I cannot stress enough how much more RAM improves this game. I started out with 1gb PC3200....bumped it up to 1.5gb and the improvement was amazing. Maps loaded in half the time and the "spawn stutter" was gone. Now I'm up to 2gb and it's as smooth as butter......about 30 seconds from "join server" to spawn.....no hitches, no stutters. Smoooooooth!

Put off the video card upgrade, put off the CPU upgrade. Get more RAM now! You will be glad you did

yeah my mate upped his too 1.5gb and yeah he spawns a LOT quicker. OIve bought a new gfx card this month (6800GT) but next month im getting anotyher matched pair of corsair pc3200 putting me up too 2gb it shold be wicked :)

if i could put off a graphics card update i would...but i got a s**t geforce fx5200 that can only play bf2 on low...low...and errr low settings! ill get a xfx6600gt and then ill upgrade to a gig of ram...

btw...Kingston or Corsair???????

I only have about 1 gig of RAM right now and I still got one slot left in my motherboard, ao I'll probably buy another gig soon.

And by the way, Corsair is the best.

There was a huge thread on this when the game (or was it the demo?) first came out over at AnandTech. Several people there were testing memory useage and page swaping. The general consensus was that with the bloated code used in the game, 2GB runs much better. I went ahead and got the full 2GB and yep the game did run much, much better than with 1GB.

Yeah I only have 512 DDR and I get the "Spawn Lag" when I first enter a new map for like the first 2-3 mins after it "warms up" I'm fine though. I'm gonna go with a gig to see if theres a difference.

I manage to play fine after about the first minute or so of each map loaded.

I play fine aswell with 512 ram after 2-3 minutes, i usually just join a server, join the game, leave it for about 2-3 minutes and go get me somthing to eat and let the pc get '' used '' to the game. (or as you said, warm up)

But, can somone guide me to some good 512 mb ram stick at newegg.com that i could buy? so many different kinds i'm a bit confused.

Ya... I went from 256 to 512 and it was like "OMG, C&C Generals: ZH is sooo much faster!"

My puter can't handle any more then 1GB...

I have 1 GB PC3200 RAM and it runs all games fine.

I have a P4 2.4, 1 GIG SDR and Radeon 9800 pro and since the game came out I had to run it on low and it would be fine but since the 1.3 patch came out I can't even play the game without lagging everysecond damn EA

i went from 1gb to 2gb and it was amazing. The difference is like black and white, and i highly recomend getting another gb of ram soon. It is much smoother now and loading is quicker.

Here is a good choice. Rosewill is reliable and their ram is fast. Plus it is inexpensive (quantity over quality when it comes to ram anyway)
