I know you all probably think I'm just saying this because I'm not a pilot...maybe that's true, but here me out. Airpower is just ripping apart this game. If the other time has 1 more good pilot than yours, first off, any strategy or team work becomes impossible. If you are getting shot at by a sniper you can take cover in an area where he can't get you, and perhaps sneak up behind him. If you see a tank coming, you can run to an area where it can't get you. But when there's airpower in the game all you can do is get in the AA, get in another aircraft, or die. AA is luck as far as I can see, and airpower...well, what the heck kind of strategy or teamwork could you use there? Aircraft is just about aim and experience as far as I can see. Second, where's this rock paper scissors system EA speaks of? If air is paper, what are the scissors? AA misses 90% of the time, and gets a team kill another 7% for no logical reason. Meanwhile it just takes one quick swoop from the heli or jet and that AA is blown to bits. Worst of all is the ability they have to repair. If you damage a heli or jet (damage a jet, aren't I hiliarous), you can get it off your teams back for a few seconds, but get no credit for your help. Fourth, airpower has no reflection on the skill of who it kills, just on the one doing the killing, unlike infantry, tanks, and maybe even AA. It is just like artillery, you simply need to stay out of large crowds and hope to god you get lucky. I don't have anything against pilots. I don't blame them for using airpower while it is there, but the airpower is just taking so much out of the game.

If you don't have a good pilot on your side, you get owned. Plain and simple......so be it......climb into a jet or play a map with no airpower!!Comment

Meh. I shot down 2 fighters, 2 blackhawks and a cobra in one round last night using AA.

I have to agree, I don't want to agree, but this games only fault IMO is the air power (jets) can tend to own a map. I'm a pilot at times, but I prefer to run on foot, gun on foot, kill you on foot, creep up on you two on foot slip my knife in you's before you knows on foot. Amish power babee.Comment

I dont think it ruins the game. Personally your only seeing it as so, because the blunt fact is you su*k and frequently get owned by flying planes that are weak as **** in the fact 2 missles from the cobra can kill it.
If you cant fly and help your team defend thats your fault, and I'll personally straight up call you S*up*d. Why? Because I had to learn how to fly to help my team in the air, and now I consider myself pretty good at it.Comment

You're right man, AA missles are laughable. Flying around on wake island I can almost entirely ignore the missle lock warning buzzer, just a roll or a bit of maneuvering is all it takes to evade one. Plus I was chasing an F35 with a J10 and another F35 came up behind me, he locked on and fired some missles but they either just missed or swerved onto his team mate. It's pretty sad when the best land based AA defense is a tank, not the stinger/IGLA sites. Hopefully we'll get a patch really quick addressing some of those gameplay issues (and maybe hopefully the red-name bug) but seeing how long it took for the last patch who knows?Comment

Ever since 1.03 it's a ton easier to shoot down a jet with the AA. Before jets just turned in as tight a circle as possible, and the missiles would always miss. Now they must do combinations of a full loop, and barrel rolls to shake off those damn missiles.Comment

wait, IME since the latest patch the AA is faster but it doesn't lock on unless a jet is close, much closer than before. On top of that the AA doesn't hardly ever actually hit the jets. choppers, NP but Jets have it easy.Comment
