Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
I was playing Wake last nite and it seemed when we took the Chinese airfield that their arty assets became USMC (i.e. I blew them up and got team damage) what gives? Anybody else see this problem?
It depends on your team. When I was on USMC there was no teamwork. The jets and helicopters refused to clear the ground or attack the enemy jets and heli to keep them off infantry. So it was a struggle to make it to the shore. When we did we had 100 tickets left to their 200 or so. It all depends on teamwork.
Good Map if you like more clearly defined battlelines. Because the island is so thin, it's difficult to flank the enemy. Other maps are so haphazard, with people running around everywhere and I'm constantly being shot in the back.
raped every tank with the usmc heli, only have 4 deaths came out with 30kills, AA still sucked, and jets couldnt shoot me down, because they were getting chaced by our jets, we held thier airfield at all cost, from the sky, the ground battle looked very intense on both sides of the airfield entrance

On wake, which ever team owns the airfield, owns the arty. In that, the arty changes to which ever team owns the airfield. Making the airfield flag, a very nice piece of property.
This flag is a must keep for the chinese team. Air, plus Arty. Oh yeah, ya just gotta keep resources here.
There should be less vehicles in the damn map. You can't get from one waypoint to another without getting bombed, shot, driven over, blown away by artillery, stabbed, lynched...
The island is too small.
I feel the same way about this one as I do about Clean Sweep. The spawn points are ridculous. Depends too much on having a good team to make a foot hold on the island. If you don't have a good team, you get stuck on the carrier and I don't really find that too much fun.
it's all in favour of the usmc imo, a - it's nearly impossible to get out to their arty to put it out of action and B - as soon as the airfield is lost any j-10's in the air can no longer re-arm. in summing up go out wide with a few usmc in a helo and sneak in the back to capture the airfield flag to finish round quickly, once all those us planes are in the air the J-10's quickly fall as does the map...
same strat back in 1942...capture that airfield and the chinese will feel some pain.
the map all depends on teamwork, which unfortunately, isn't something you regularly come across is this game.
if China is halfway competent, they can bleed the marines to half tickets before they get a flag. then china has the 3 tanks to come and rape the one marine flag with (that's with the attack helo off somewhere else). usually, the action boils down to around one flag, which some people like, but I'm not a fan. I like run and gun maps. the only way for the US to win is to have the chinese run at the dumb, or by some stroke of luck, take the airfield.
my main issue is with the marine spawn points. they're all from one direction. the BH is a nice idea but RARELY works. the japanese had a destroyer and carrier to launch from, on different sides of the map, AND those could be driven around. having the US only coming from one direction makes it incredibly easy to defend.
Another map that’s highly dependent on superiority from the air as well as an over abundant use (abuse) of artillery strikes. Narrow map makes for easy strikes from both as the teams tend to bunch up at choke points, give us a real island map like something ripped out of Far Cry, complete with river inlets and variations in elevation and I’ll be impressed.
Someone said it best, karkand and wake are cool because there are clear battle lines. Think about it...Operation Cleansweep starts with all MEC spawn points, but USMC can spread out an attack. It's realtively easy to get a flag, Dalian too, but Wake is tighter.
I like the idea of OPForces coming right at you and you don't have to worry about getting flanked too often. It comes down to who sees whom first and who has the best weapon. Not being able to go into the buildings is less of a factor on Wake than it would have been in Karkand. Karkland should have a dozen windows for snipers to shoot out of. But hey, that' s just my opinion.
I did however find it annoying that the occassional bush would stop me dead in my tracks.
Overall a good map, but I wouldn't say the best map.
