So it like this:
I have 'bout 17000 points and The patch pumped me up from Corporal to Gunnery Sergeant. It says that my next rank will be Master Sergeant.

Here is my problem/question.
The BFHQ bar shows NO progress towards the next rank! I've read from UBAR that its 8000 points for Gunnery- and 20000 for Master Sergeant AND based on that info I assume the progress bar should be 3/4 full.

Has anyone else this problem?

Looks like I have to do the whole kills with kits thing again - now that badges have changed. In order to get veteran you have to get x # of kills IAR, and x # of total hours as that class/kit. I have the hours - some of them at least 5x what I need. Must need to get # of kills over again because I know I have done that before.

guide is WRONG!

i am at 62000 pts with all the basic badges plus a couple veteran and expert and still, i'm "only" at first sergeant.

BirdKiller, for example, has 24000 pts with all the basic badges plus a couple veteran and expert and he's also a first sergeant.

that's a difference of about 38000 pts there.

DaDDeH, with all the basic badges plus a couple veteran and expert is at sergeant major at 53000 pts. (i have more points than him but he has a higher rank and again, i have ALL basic badges + veteran & expert badges as well)

IWI, with all the basic badges plus a couple veteran and expert is also a sergeant major at over 114000 pts!

difference of over 60000 there!

Yeah, I went from corporal to staff sergeant with 19000 points. My friend went from corporal to gunnery sergeant with only 13000 points. Another guy I know has 7900 points and went from lance corporal to staff sergeant. Annoying.

Yeah, I went from corporal to staff sergeant with 19000 points. My friend went from corporal to gunnery sergeant with only 13000 points. Another guy I know has 7900 points and went from lance corporal to staff sergeant. Annoying.

i'm not annoyed at the ranking system at all. i'm just curious why even though i have more points than someone (read my above post) and we both have ALL the basic badges + some veteran and expert and yet he has a higher rank than me! wth?

Yeah, I totally understand what you're saying. It doesn't make sense. I'm fine with them, too...I'm also just concerned that I have 19000+ points and I'm only a staff sergeant while my friend has 13000 points and he's a gunnery sergeant. I guess I was wrong to think if I had more points than someone, that naturally meant I should be a higher rank? lol

so now, MAYBE rank = amount of time played?

i mean, if we both have more points and lower rank than some of the other guys, then, MAYBE rank is now due to the number of hours played?

I'm not sure. I've seen people with lower play time and a lower global score than I have and they're gunnery sergeants. And if amount of time played = rank was the case, then that probably wouldn't be fair for those that have ranked up and earned a lot of points in less time than someone who hasn't. Who knows. :-P

The badgeand medal reqiurments are the only thing not changed in the patch.

Yep, got two ribbons that didn't show up during the game (Far east service ribbon and middle east service ribbon), but they did show up in BHFQ.
But I also got the Good conduct ribbon which showed up ingame, but still (after 14h) hasnt shown up in BFHQ.
Dunno...lets see what happens.

that's been happening off and on from day one for me. maybe the image from the post game report from some rounds don't make it to the stat server??? who knows

Give it time guys, Im sure the BF2 stats and everything is just overloaded, give it a couple days. I have 26,000 points, played two ranked maps and had no rank increase. Im still only at sergant (sp)
