Tell me where you hurt by a sniper when you were a kid? Seriously though, why such animosity towards the marksmen? Even if it was a one shot kill, theres still the little thing called aiming, and it still has a very limited rate of fire, and ammo capacity. Basically one shot kill M95 will not be broken, if anything it would be MORE balanced. But that's another thread.

On another note I suspect the guys at DICE got owned by snipers in online games prior to making BF 1942.

Hmm, the only downside I can think of is all the PKM noobs running around trying to shoot while running at the same time. That's an upside if they're on the other team. :)

I've already seen some comedy spray n pray while running with the unlocked support weapon. Even more now lots of newly ranked up noobs have it.

The biggest downside is people in game whining about how its not as good rather than helping me win

No. I've seen a ton of people say this an it's simply not true. The reason you're getting a rank a kill is because your current global score is already over the new requirements, so you're being leveled to your new rank, 1 rank at a time each kill. Thus, the only reason you leveled so fast is because you were already there :)

I was pretty happy to get the "gift" of the patch. Lot's of rank, and weapons, and some ribbons too. Just enough to keep you going I think. I just got the G36C as my 3rd weapon, and it IS a sweet gun, even at range.

Oh yeah, the ingame server browser doesn't work any better than it used to. In fact, it seems like its worse. Every time I refresh the server list and apply filters, the whole server list gets filtered out. Absolutely horrible.

what are some of your downsides, or things you wish would have changed in 1.03?
The 2 things i dislike,

5 secs? Well maybe thats cos you had already earned the points. If you started a new account you won't go up in 5 secs will you? No. Get a freakin clue.
