No. I've seen a ton of people say this an it's simply not true. The reason you're getting a rank a kill is because your current global score is already over the new requirements, so you're being leveled to your new rank, 1 rank at a time each kill. Thus, the only reason you leveled so fast is because you were already there :)
yeah - don't people realize that it's only the first 3 kills after the patch is installed that level you up? After that you're caught up and the levelling proceeds per the new requirements
Well if you put your details in on the bf2tracker website and then click on the rank emblem picture to display your rank predictions, there pretty high and are going to take me awhile.

Everyone stop the bitching about going up in 2-3 ranks. Everyone should go to the bf2tracker and do this. They are in for a huge suprise. Also note that the above image doesn't even start to show the officers yet. At his rate it looks like over 4-5 years worth of playing and when you add in officers then you can do the math.
Down side to the patch is they still didn't fix the fact that idiots can walk over your claymores and punish you for it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's why wanted this patch so much to fix something as retarded as that.

I get the server browser prob, where the list disappears if you type in a filter etc
also it locks/crashes when I try a server from the favourites list
and the favourites list shows everything in red and blanks the details sometimes, even tho the servers are active.
in game sometimes noises don't sound (like if I team chat something my 'voice' is not heard, and incoming arty seems muted)
Other than that no major issues, the team balance is a lot better, I like having a few unlocks to play with.
All in all fairly happy, but my god that server browser is a piece of crap that just does not get better. Weird given that the server in BFV (although that was bad) did not have so many probs by the end.
i think they should add more unlockables so that once you have the few unlocks that are even worth anything, you can still have something to play towards.
New sounds and names when in vehicles is all i can think of.
-Wake island was a good map for about 5 minutes.
-IGLA's still hit nothing.
-Only one person in a vehicle can cap a flag. (idiots jump in when im taking a flag and i dont get a point)
-RANKS ARE ****ING GAY ( completely stupid ranks making most of the unlocks pointless as everyone has them now. Ranks are all crap and look **** )
-ALOT of known bugs are still there. I still can and have been TK'ed by being squashed by a helicopter or against a wall by a tank and run over. The red name thing is still aparently there.
-Helicopters are ALOT weaker, I can take down a AH-1Z with a FAV in around 5 or 6 seconds. Yet their guns seem to be much more powerfull.
-The tv guided missiles are much worse.
-Awards are too easy. (50 global explosive kills for vet badge, just when i finaly got to 500 to get it.)
-I have the basic pistol and knife bug where i cannot gain those badges and thus i cant reach first sergeant.
xfire is the same as ASE, they have to patch there software to work with BF2 not the other way around, I cant believe some are moaning about EA that they dont work.
M95 usally does kill in 1 shot, Xfire not working has nout to do with EA they just have to update Xfire so it can work with the new patch.

Incorrect, EA did mess up support for 3rd party browsers in 1.03 patch. If you recall they fixed this back with 1.02 patch so that both ASE and Xfire allowed joining server directly from them. After 1.03 patch, BF2 support for 3rd party browsers is broken again, both ASE and Xfire dont work any longer as far as joining server directly from them. EA QA needs to write down what they fixed before so that in future they dont break it again, I thought his be simple concept but obviously it wasnt. I hope the fix this soon, XFire cannot fix this.
Jesus.. When ranks required obscene amounts of points to get, people stat padded like crazy to get them... Everyone complained... Now they made it easier, less people stat pad because they already HAVE the unlocks they want.. Everyone complains... Stop whining, forget about ranks, forget about idiots, just go play and have FUN!!!!
So far havent yet encountered any bugs. Regarding the new rankings, i dont really have complaints but it just feels like something was lost, seeing as how before i had more "respect" for higher ranks. You know "ooh that guy is a higher rank, must've played alot". But i believe its just because i've gotten used to the original ranking system. people will get used to this new ranking system eventually.
