It has changed the gameplay alot... I was in a 24/7 strike at karkand server yestarday, everyone was anti-tank; no medic or support whatsoever.......
I haven't played long enough to notice the downsides, but the only thing i noticed is that everyone seems to be walking around with the unlocks.......lol

I've noticed two problems that have never happened to me before:

Firstly, i was Tk about seven or eight times on a server before i quit, probably because i was showing up as red, I kept spawning at different points and suddenly i was being killed after running toward me team members. Every time I was asked do I want to punish the Tker.

Second, and this has never happened before, I was killed and revived my a medic (three different times) only to be holding a different kit, this has now happened three times, I went from At to medic, At to support and from sniper to enginer

anyone else had the second problem hapen?

Downside:

Artillery does NOT count for kills. But i noticed when the artillery hits, it sounds and looks better! Maybe thats just me though.

Arty has new sounds and effects yea. It didn't count for kill even before the patch.

if you were in a area where several people have died and have been revived or have left there kits behind, you will get there kits. If the guy who revived you was not originally a medic but picked up a medic kit then revives someone before you, that person he revives first will get his kit and so on and so forth, until you have a different kit. It has happened to me several times. It is just kit switching. I usually take it as a sign that what i was doing in the first place wasn't working and it is time for a new kit anyway :)

Arty has new sounds and effects yea. It didn't count for kill even before the patch.

I noticed alot of new sounds..... kinda interesting why they would change them. The one that really stuck out is the apc and tank turret sounds. When they move you can hear them from quite a distance now.

Down side to the patch is they still didn't fix the fact that idiots can walk over your claymores and punish you for it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's why wanted this patch so much to fix something as retarded as that.

Yahoo's All Seeing Eye doesn't work either.

Plus I hate that stupid EA message notification--WTF? It's something else you have to click, it apparently doesn't track whether you've already viewed the message or not, and the message itself is nearly a week old!

Wake up! All Seeing Eye has to update. That isn't a bf2 issue.

Actually no your wrong but nice try anyway :) The real reason you can't join from ASE anymore is that you can't start-up from a command line. This is the same problem that the release version had but it was fixed in the first patch (1.01) It now seems the problem has been re-introduced along with the some of the previous in-game browser lag (at least for some people)

All this is of course offset (for now) by the fact the "favourites" server list has been added in-game so it dosent really bother me too much as i would prefer to join in game as its faster. A few more tweaks with a hot-fix patch will sort it out, which is surley coming as is normal with every other online game at patch time.

The ONLY real downside i have seen so far is that it seems the TK allocation is a little worse (for me) as evert time i have shot a BH down so far i managed to get a TK from falling/exploding wreckage, but again it dosent really bother me too much the improvements outweight any faults found or waiting to be found IMHO

That's what I've come to realize--programs like ASE work by plugging values into a command line. Alas, no more (for now).

It did :P No points for the kill, but definatley counted as a kill towards global kills. I read somewhere here that it does count towards the global kills, but doesnt actually show in the game? I will test this out. If so, then nothin to complain about yet :P
