Lets do a list ... 30 minutes BF2 wake and I came up with these bugs:
patch diskspace restrictions
- Even though my games, user files and temp directories are located on a diffrent partitions than my system. The patch still insts on 1.6GB free space on my system partition. At NO point during the patching process more than 400MB diskspace are consumed.
Username prefix
- why in gods name is that thing at the login screen? It has nothing to do with the login process. It should be somewhere at options/general or the multiplayer tab. AND it needs to STORE that inormation for the next session.
"new EA Message"
- A blank window with 2 buttons that basilc dont tell the user anything about whats going on.
- Clicking the open button caused BF2 to crash and opend the Internet Explorer. Im using FireFox, it is set as the default handler for the http protocol and html files. There is no reason to start MSIE.
- The opend site does not exist .. in fact you get a 403 Access Denied
Server Browser
- There is nowhere mentioned how to search for partial server names. After some trial&error and SQL knowledge I tried "%" as a placeholder and succeeded.
- Under some wierd circumstances the browser doesnt show anything. There are 3 buttons + Enter key that "look" like they all do the same - update the list. BAD GUI DESIGN! Tell the user what does what, allow KEYBOARD-ONLY access to all functions. Dont act diffrently on Return, Apply, Update, Apply Filters.
Player/vehicle collission
- they apparently have two diffrent rules for vehicle/player collisions for friendly and enemy units. I could drive THROUGH a friendly soldier with twice the speed I needed to kill a enemy - I recon that this defreat those nasty untintentional TKs. While slowly driving though my mate my player got damaged and complained "Hey, cease fire!".
squad leader spawn bug
2 times in a row I was unable to spawn on my squad leader. He was NOT driving in a full vehicle, he was NOT dead, he was walking through the map with NONE obstacles aound him.
squad leave bug
For ~30 seconds I was unable to leave my squad. There was no reason for it. The button just didnt work.
Crash to Desktop when clicking Options/Video
Well, says it all. 2 of 3 times BF2 crashes to desk when displaying the video options. Latest, nvidia driver. Didnt happen with 1.02.
... WTH where those "testers" doing the past month?!
