From what i see it the patch is targeted at the C:/ drive so even if i do a temp folders on D:/ and it did extract there also but that does not help cause it still says the same errormessage that i dont have enough room on the c drive i really doubt if you even can workaround that.

Your right m8 for the game to run you still need "X" amount of space and you have run out you could get a new HD, or Zip drive as has been said and set it up as auxiliary, HD, space. HD are quite cheap these days. Let us know how you get on m8 good luck.

FYI on BSOD
Ok assuming that you have a good install of the game patch and punkbuster and that you are up to date on drivers for all of your hardware.

Also assuming that the game has patched ok for you and when you have opened up the game it gives you BSOD then :-

From what I can remember there are some things to look at, but, you can decide what order to do them in and test.

Virtual Memory have you set it correctly?

Ram is it working ok "Memtest" and Free for 30 days "Tuneup 2006" run Ram optimiser.

Not loading a program and BSOD has in the past also been attributed to bottleneck of information, the card it self, heat, and the programs set to run it.

Yeah i will sooner or later getting a new hd ive realized that now and yes im using the tuneup ram optimizer its working great.

I have the same issue. I tried Whitesharks work around - didnt help me. Tried the 'unpack and patch manually' and i got the 'black screen and drop back to windows' issue. I forced a reinstall of directx9c and that fixed it.
Damn EA and their amatuer coders!
