I think anyone that spends some time sniping with the M95 will agree .

I don't know your specs, but for me it was a question of video card, ram and a lack of practice. Last night I was sniping with my G36C and still hitting them from about 200 yards or more...

If you were a chick I'd ask ya "Whatcha wearin'", but I don't think so. Specs look good to me...just keep practicing then...

I went from 1Gb to 1,5 Gb ram , and that took care of some stuttering at the begining of new levels , but i have a 6600Gt
Also a couple of Fast SATA´s in Raid 0 can improve map load times.like WD Raptors

Yep I know they are alright, I get a nice FPS and only stutter for a second or 2 when first joining, everything on high apart from lighting on medium and AAx2, it's just me being a crap shot

Re: Accuracy:Bullet Drop& Head Shots

I fired a crapload of sniper shots at my friend on our server with the chinese sniper, the M24 and the M95. I DID NOT USE DECALS!!!! Decals in this game are way off target and prove absolutely nothing. I fired the M24 at it's maximum range which is approximately 340 meters. I plucked in 5 out of 5 shots on him. I DID NOT SHOOT ABOVE HIS HEAD! The M95 has a fatter crosshair and a bigger deviation which makes it very hard to make consistent long range shots with it. I could maybe reach 3 to 4 out of 5 in good series.

Like stated earlier a scope is zeroed at a given distance. In a game you can make the distance vector which leaves the weapon go out at approximately the same position as the scope itself. Leaving it accurate at most distances. But at 350 meters even the slightest difference in angle by a pixel or two will affect the aim. In addition there is deviation on the rifles which mean the "bullet" doesn't leave the weapon in a straight angle.

This does not nescessarily disprove that there is bullet drop but in case of the M24 it's pretty insignificant at 340 meters. A point that speaks against all this bullet drop talk is that by having bullet drop on all weapons it puts a crapload of extra calculations on the server. It is possible to put gravity on sniper bullets and not on regular rifles but at 300 meters it's absolutely pointless considering there is already deviaton. The M4 fires 30 !!! bullets in about 3 seconds. Consider a 64 player server with a lot of action and bullets flying everywhere and the server calculating gravity on all of them.

I repeat that you cannot use decals to prove anything. My friend fired M24 shots over my head and the smoke puff from the shots where around my feet and he fired in an upward angle! To test it for yourself use a friend who is a medic and let the server decide what is a hit or not.

someone please dig out that old post with those 4 movies - I cant seem to find it :hmm:

Edit: ive NEVER shoot to the left or right of my target (except after/while moving myself). But I do see hits above(behind) or below them.
SSHHHTS....

Just let them think theres no bullet drop, better advantage for us..

I agree.. THERES NO BULLETDROP IN BF2

Not this again....

Say it with me....There is no bullet drop, there is only gravity.

The "magic" bad aim is not low FPS nor (necessarily) poor aim. It's a deviation algorigthim built in. Look at the .con & .tweak files....
:)

notice in the video that the guys is stadind up while sniping...this mean the accuracy cone was far greater than the prone position. its just pure luck to me...or maybe there is bullet drop...as a matter of fact, all sniper videos shows one shot- one kill, so i dont trust this kind of video. :|:

Re: Accuracy:Bullet Drop& Head Shots

To everyone who thinks that firing XX number of rounds to prove their point one way or another, please look through the actual code for BF2. Read up on modding for the BF series & view some modding forums. This will settle 99% of these arguments. Using non-standard terminiology when describing events in BF confusion is introduced. So please, it's not called bullet drop, it's just gravity.

Programming the physics part of a game engine is much easier when all objects follow the same rules. It's much easier to give every object mass & make it follow F(g)=((Gm)a*((m)b))/(r^2) than to make up a specific arc for that bullet X follows & a different arc for bullet Y.
