    Accuracy:Bullet Drop& Head Shots

    Heyhey,

    Okay...not just to creat a flame war...but...

    1) People that complain the guns aren't accurate...have really bad FPS
    2) There is bullet drop at greater distances.

I know both are true because I've had crappy FPS and complained, myself, about the accuracy. Now I have great FPS and have no problems....barring moving targets...hehe.

As for bullet drop. I tried it 2wice last night, not only did I hit...but got a few one shot one kills. so there...

Let my words be gospel and my actions be sins.

There is no bullet drop it's just that the cone of fire means the bullets don't go in a straight line so it appears that there is but really it just the random movement of the bullet.

It's not bad FPS or bullet drop it's "random deviation" that causes the accuracy issues.

to every person that says they have proven bullet drop, i say instead of aiming above, aim to the left and see what happens. they never respond.

Everyone knows the bullet travels one foot to the left for the first 100 meters then two feet to the right the next 100 meters, and so on...

Will do...but then again...aiming for the chest would produce the same effect.

and until I see something official from EA...I say bullcaki!

According to some testing done by people at GameFAQs, there is bullet drop.

I have very little personal experience in the matter because I'm not much of a sniper, but just in case you wanted to check out some testing people have done on the matter, there you go.

If there is no bullet drop...that's quite the big cone...and no I'm not happy to see you.

Laws of physics state that bullets do not decrease inspeed but the gravity pulls them towards earth... Thus bullet drop yey! If your geting low FPS or lag you need to master the ancient technique of lag shooting! Basicly you take advance to ye aiming and more advance for account of ye lag Back in the day playing Quake with crappy slow modems lag shooting was mandatory :P

                              Re: Accuracy:Bullet Drop& Head Shots

Naw, there is definetely bullet drop in the BF2 engine. As i have done a good bit of testing for the PR minimod now, (i cant say too much more than this), but the zoom and accuracy of the sniper rifles are such that there is no chance of a random bullet cone being a factor in long range sniper shots (when prone and zoomed in as i was)

Tested on dalian plant, 64 players. from the chinese main base, there is a wooden bridge that has view of a break in the fence around the actual central plant with the large silos all around it.

we had a guy park a chinese armored jeep there, and we shot at specific points.

without fail, every shot dropped and went to the left of where it was aimed at, as we told our man standing there where we were aiming, and he'd report where the shot actually hit (using the bullet marks made on the vehicle)

i dont remember specifics, and i can't make a vid of unreleased mod content, but there is definetely still bullet drop in the bf2 engine (seeing as no bullet drop has yet been modified)
