Re: DOD: Source <A Review>

its a good game, something to play when i get bored/burned out of BF2. I played this mod (now game) since way back in its beta days. Good stuff when it was direct competition at CS at the time.

Now if Valve can get the servers to run better, fix a number of glaring problems I wonder how beta testers should of noticed, then this might be a good alternative game to play here and there. Or, for some, until Call of Duty 2.

So.. last night i played it some more, soo.. I've played it for a grand total of almost 2 hours now.

I played Anzio last night, and yes, I did notice the water, I did notice the graphics, they were better than the map I played on Monday night.

here are some more specific comments
- The MG42 (german heavy machine gun) its good.. its really good, almost photo-realistic, but thats the problem its to good, looks out of place
- The Luger, and a lot of other guns just look like blocks, brown blocks and grey blocks, very disapointing
- The classes they changed and how they changed them, were also very disapointing, RPG's, smoke grenades, whats next.. zip lines? quads? jet..oh.. whoopsy.. never mind

The Pro's
- Its only a $21(CDN) Game
- Yes, Valve has a much much MUCH better patching history than EA/Dice

In Conclusion, I've waited almost a year for this game since HL2 came out, expecting what i was expecting, seeing what I've seen, IMHO I though it would be a better.

p.s. no I'm not a bunny hopper Funk, why do you keep sugesting I am?

you seem to have a problem with smoke grenades.

They were used in WW2 so i dont understand your complaint.

There is no RPG's in it. Bazooka and Panzershreck are ani tank weapons, there kinda pointless to be there since theres vehicles, but its not like they create some huge fireball, just a cloud of dust, since all there firing basically is a big piece of metal. People dont die from the explosion but from the shrapnel afterward.

Your complaints about it not being authentic to WW2 so far are stupid. And I know a TON about WW2.

I'd like to join a clan, but i just dont have the time.
I can see by your 161-hours of playing that you have plenty of time to join clans.

Your gameSlave Rating is 3.316

Very impressive, kudos to you, perhaps we can meet on the field of battle, see who is better player? who hops the most.. (as you are so fond of accusing me that I do)

Lol, I love how you totally just take a well known acronym and bend it to fit what you're trying to say. Guess what guys, LOL now means Loads of Laughs instead of Laughing Out Loud.

RPG refers, in most societies except yours apparently, to Rocket Propelled Grenade. These are small, high explosive rounds that are set into a rifle-like peice that launches them. They contain three compartments in each round: a pocket of fuel for the initial launch, solid rocket fuel for travelling and the highly explosive substance in the front. They are launched from the RPG chassis and then the rocket propulsion takes force and ignites, carrying the rocket towards its target where it strikes and ignites.

The weapon system you are talking about is called, I believe, the M1 Garand Mobile Mortar System. It was developed to fire fragmentation grenades a greater distance than the soldier could throw. They were used for taking out bunkers and elevated places of concealment.

RPG is not a Rifle Grenade.

Theyre completely different, other then the fact that they both explode.

For M1 Garand/M1 Carbine :

Rifle Grenades have been used since World War 1....

In comparison, an RPG is totally different then a rifle Grenade, not even close to the same thing.

The ww1 rifle nades were decently accurate to an extent but they were improved for ww2 so they were more accurate. They had some deviation but the real thing with the drop with them since they went pretty straight. Ive seen a ww2 one fire a dud grenade once, was pretty cool.

i love dod:S, im getting sick of bf2, havent played it in like 1/2 a month, dod:s is soo fun, grafix are really good, gameplay is awesome, one u get rid of the lag, but valve just needs to fix the fps issues, once that is fixed, dod:s and cs:s is all ill be playing.

Yes, check us out. We are a new clan, we hate hoppers and are looking for mature, team oriented players. So check us out you will enjoy the company/gaming with us.

PS You also don't have to be a history buff over here. It is after all just a game. If I want accurate history (for the most part), I turn on The History channel. Or better yet The Military channel (for the most part).

=HzC=FuriousFunk, I have seen nothing from you and =HzC=Heinz except constant flame bait towards |ODD|JDUKE in this and other threads, particularly his recruitment threads.

Here's the deal you will take whatever differences you have between you away from this forum and resolve it in your own ways, or we will simply remove you.

I'm not really fussed what happens tbh.
