the f14(and f18) is obselete and is being replaced by the f35...
the f15 isnt really obselete though but this is being replaced by the f22 (cant remember about the f16) but youd have to nerf the f22 raptor looooads to give balanced gameplay

F18 ain't obsolete, especially the newer better superhornets. The F14, it's outta it's age now, everybody knows that. It was developed in the 60s, and i think the pheonix missile hasn't been used yet, It was our counter to new russian bombers, because pheonix missiles would shoot the bombers way before they were in range. Just another weapon devised in the cold war.

ok... time to clear up all the BS

firstly the Pheonix missle is an Air-to-Air missle capable of intercepting anything from planes to missles at a range of 100+ miles, they were decommisioned last year...

the F-14 was developed in the early 70's to rid of the threat of russian long range bombers, in the late 80's, since the threat no longer existed they transformed the F-14 in to a bomber/air superiority fighter.

the f-14 is on its final days and is being removed from the fleet begining of next year...

JSF is only replacing the F-14 and older F/A-18's until then the fleet will mainly rely on F/A-18's, the newer Super Hornets are in service as of late last year.

and the F-22 raptor will replace the aging(and ****ty rip off of the F-14) F-15 Strike Eagle....

and i know this because i wanted to fly this jet since i was like 5, and the year i graduate(next year) it is not gunna be in service...:cry:

oh and the F-14 while obsolete(no fly-by wire you geeks would need) it can still turn and burn with the best of 'em, its only a little better, and a helluva better looking plane... except for the F/A-18E SuperHornets cockpit is way better...

I know, they shoulda just put in a full nimitz class carrier, at least they coulda made the F18 not on the ground. Because all F18s in service that i know of, are on carriers.

nope, USMC F-18s deploy from both carriers (if they are on rotation) and land bases..

it's EA/DICE!!!.....they don't know realism or time....just get over it...Brits using BAR's, Russians having Japanese SMG...

plus, they probably just wanted to have one bomber for each army, MEC = Su-34, US = F15E, PLA = Su-30
