Most people on this thread are judging based on a T.V. Program.

The T.V program as you call it was backed by well-known Military Historian and Defense Analyst.

Most of the people's opinion on the current topic are influenced by nationalism. The program was quite objective.

Most people on this thread are judging based on a T.V. Program. I'd like to point out the media is not neccessarily correct. If you read closely into the research documents present for the tank comparisons you'd realize the U.S M1 is vastly superior, but not by its sheer firepower, or armour alone. You must realize the U.S is one of the world superior dominate countries in fields of science accompanied by a neighbouring country such as Canada, which was once the leader of the aerospace engineering and long range weapontry divisions.

The U.S simply has better technology for accounting for the shell-drop deviation as well as better targetting systems then most tanks. The only tanks that can top the M1 is tanks in which their name is publicly available, however, all information is kept classified by their respective governments.

THis guy is absolutely correct, we don't know enough about the Russian T-90 and other tanks like that. And yeah, all the modern Nato tanks (Challanger 2, Leopard 2A6 etc.) are about the same in fire power, armor, and mobility. THe M1 is faster, but it's fuel consumption negates that. The M1 has higher technology than the others, and remember, the M1 is older than the other ones, and yeah, the best tanks we've faced are Iraqi T-72s, with somewhat poorly trained crews. I mean, let's see, all the great modern tanks you could name, probably they're about the same, that's why the crew training helps, i mean, if it were Chalenger 2 vs. M1A2, who knows who will win, probably whoever has better training, their armor is the same, and both tanks can and will use their best weapon against modern tanks. APFSDS, there isn't much difference between modernt tanks, there needs to be a breakthrough in technology for that to happen, the Panzer IV made a breakthrough, tanks were always used as infantary support, Hitler thought right, and differently. T-34 was defintly a breakthrough, the best overall tank of WWII. And the M1 made a semi-breakthrough, it lead the way for other modern tanks to come into production.

I think you are thinking of the SU-27 flanker, great russian plane, my uncle loves that plane, his favorite plane of all time is F-14, the SU-27 is his second favorite. And have yu seen the Cobra manuver done by a SU-27, it can go from flying flat (not rising or falling in altitude) to pointing it's nose directly up, and back down to flat again, and barely change alitude. It's more of a stunt, it doesn't help in combat whatsoever, it just looks like a cobra rising up and down. Anyways, i see a lot of people are in an arguement over the best tanks in NATO, like said, probably the one with best trained crews will win.
