When you really think about it, overall the game isn't that glitchy/buggy/screwy. There just aren't any REAL bugs like that, the patch is just going to fix a lot of gameplay issues and small problems here and there that will make the experience more enjoyable. Sure, we all could use the patch right now but I'd rather Dice get it perfect (or close to it) and take their time in releasing it.

We don't want to have a "Quick-Fix" patch released immediately after the 1.1 patch is released, just because Dice rushed it to appease annoying people like you.

Besides, Dice is probably including some content with this patch, like a map or two and some vehicles. They did for BF:1942 and BFV, so why not BF2?

Good things come to those who wait.. patience is a virtue, and all that

I agree, better a longer wait with a finished end result then a 'fix' that breaks 10 additional things, plus not really fixing what it's supposed to fix!

Agreed. I have never seen a game with so many flaws, bugs, and potential
exploits take 3 months after release for its fix/patch.

It only took EPIC 3 weeks to release their major patch fixing nearly all
issues for Unreal Tournament 2004.. They have had 3 more patches
since then, but only to fix small and minor issues..

3 months for this patch ? WOW. EA/DICE are fools. Its obvious
that we all are paying beta testers.. Im about bored / tired of this
          game already anyhow..

Then how come i dont have a problem with this game. sure it has some rough edges but those will be fixed in time. ive heard bf1942 was the same way when it was released. u guys are the most impatient people i have ever seen. if u dont like it go somewhere else play someother game just quit ur bitching. hell all the bitchers and moaners should all be placed in the same clan we shall call them the PMS clan.

Yeah I agree with u guys that it is better to have a well made patch better than a rushed patch. But I am still angry because of the beta tester "Image" all people have that bought BF2.I hope they will include some extra city maps in that patch...

Re: DAmnit EA ! Where is that damn PATCH???

They're not impatient, they're consumers. Consumers like to get what they pay for, and when you take something home from the store you don't expect to have to wait 3+ months for it to be rid of major problems.

Sorry, this game shipped with *major* problems. A couple of them have been mostly fixed, but there are a lot that are still very much unaddressed. On top of that there are serious signs of the computer equivalent of shoddy workmanship and cheap materials- the menu interface would have been considered terrible 5 years ago, it once again takes longer than any other similar game to load (*not* counting the time that PB adds on to that), and it requires a lot more machine to get it looking about as good as a lot of other games (unless you have a seriously top-of-the-line rig good luck getting it to look much better than UT2k4 (or whatever its called) and still have a frame rate worth mentioning).

So, let these people complain, they have a valid grievance. They were marketed a high-quality product and got a cheap piece of crap. Is it fun? Yeah its fun. So is bridge, and that only costs about $2 for a deck of cards. When I plunk down $50, a large chunk of which is the cost of the game engine, I expect it to be full-price quality, not something you expect to get in the $5-don't-even-come-in-a-box section. Is it pretty? Yeah. Is that fancy new car you bought with a wonky engine pretty? Yeah. Do they both break down at unreasonable times with unreasonable frequency and (should) oblige the manufacturer to replace/fix them in a timely manner (pretty much true for cars... for some reason people let the software industry get away with it though)? Yeah.

Re: DAmnit EA ! Where is that damn PATCH???

Anyone who bothered to type "BF2" in google would know all about the game's good and bad points. So if they went ahead and bought it anyway, why so many complaints about "OMG it's a beta!!!" (which it isn't) or "this is so shoddy, man!!!111"?

Please, there is no way anyone can allege ignorance about this game. And comparing it to a non-working car stretches the analogy to the breaking (braking?) point. This game works. I can load it and run it and shoot and kill and die and get pretty ribbons and join others on the 'net . . . granted, it could use some improvements, but that's not at all the same thing as claiming it "is a cheap piece of crap."

And to the fella who claimed he could program a game like this one: like to see you try. And if you succeed, great. I'll even consider buying it if I think I'll enjoy it. And if you can't program it, then stop making outlandish statements.

                      In short,

I had some bad TKing episodes yesterday which make me long for the patch, but aside from the arsed up TK system and a red nametag bug or hit detection error here and there, I don't have a problem with how the game performs. I've had 3 CTDs in over 250 hours of playing, which is about status quo for any PC game I have. Feces occurs, so they say. Yes, I'm looking forward to the patch and seeing what all it is they're fixing and adding, but I still love the game without it. Maybe I'm just too easy to please, though. :p

Ditto. And I don't have a laggy menu.

I have had 1 CTD in the time I've had it (day of release). I've always played on seemingly fair servers, and only spotted one person that I thought was cheating. My PC is AMD 3200+ 64 which isn't the greatest these days (with 2 GB ram, and 6800 Ultra PCI-E). I run BF2 on 1024*768 with full everything (no AA). The game runs super smooth no glitches (OK, people's legs might stick through buildings, but that happens on every game).

I hear people complaining about HL2, Far Cry, CS:S, BF42 & BFV, Dungeon Siege 2, X2, GTA:SA etc. I have never had a problem with any of these games, and there are thousands of others that haven't had problems either.

I have no doubt that some people are having trouble thanks to their setup/hardware.

BF2 a beta. You are seriously taking the p1$$. Play Project Snowblind or Hell Forces. Those are betas.

On the CS:S forums, there are loads of threads about about BF42 being buggy when it was released. Eh? Never found a single bug in that game, and I played that constantly from day of release (The chat was laggy however untill they eventually fixed it).

Did you know that EA/DICE is not obliged to making and releasing patches? When we pay $40-$50 for Battlefield 2, we are only playing for the game, not future updates, fixes, patches, etc. Hell, some softwares require payments in order to be updated or patched. I hope the game industry doesn't go to there.
