I hate that so much so I usually dedicate the rest of my game to hunting down that player and killing them (softly)..

Usually resulting in me being booted which craps me off even more.

Or if I have been waiting and somone else comes up and gets the jet/chopper just by the random allocation bit when it appears. Hate that too.

SO what if a system existed like at the deli section at the supermarket?

You arrive at the pad/hangar and are allocated a prioity number based on arrival time...if you leave the hangar/pad you lose your ticket and go to back of the que.

As soon as a jet/chopper appears, you are allocated positions based on your ticket number!

And make it impossible for another player to TK you if you are standing on the pad/hangar with a ticket. Or if they do TK you whilst you are on the pad with a ticket, your punish means they are killed and spawn time is say 5 minutes.

Another dumbass thing that leads to this happening is the fact that the people who have died in the chopper/jet , re-spawn and get back to the pad before the new chopper arrives, thus being able to hog it over and over. If the chopper re-spawned before the players who were last in it all would be sweet!

    THOUGHTS?

In BFV forum I've suggest something a bit simliar:
While you get near the jet, while staying in a small radius of it, you get let's say a 3 seconds priority over the rest, and you also get an ammunity from TK at that time interval. This way you need no be afriad of team players grabbing the long awaited vehical, TK and taking it and at the same time, the priority time is over after these few seconds since it has this limit.
When time ends, you get in the vehical or you get too far away - the next player gets the priority. The interval could be as short as 1 second to enable those with worse ping to get in on time, and yet not make this system a way to abuse the vehicals by not entering them.

How bout you learn to use a gun and go on foot. That will avoid 90% of smacktard problems and you might actually do something useful for your team. Soldiers come equipped with guns for a reason i suggest you try using them more often

Once, I waited for the jet.
One guy comes and stands next to me. So we get into a "almost TK" mode - shooting meters aways from each other. At some point I threw the med kit on the ground and started shooting at it, just to pass on time. I also tried to revive it. I found out that med kits are dead! you can't revive them what so ever. How wierd.
Anyways, the guy flying the jet went dead and respawned. So we were 3 guys waiting for the jet. As the jet spwaned I was lucky enough to get in. One guy waits infront of the plane, the second does the same only a few meters away. So I build up speed to take off and try to move the nose to the left and avoid the TK only to crash in a damn tree (my one and only crash while taking off, and one of 2 or 3 crashs with the ground ever in BF2).
Oh man, did I get ****ed off. I got into revange mode
When I respwaned one guy made it into the jet. And I'm left with the first dude with whom I thought I was joking around. Turns out he had others planes for me. He gets in a jeep, pulls out a sec before hitting me and gets me killed without getting the TK (he was out of the vehical).
My only thought at that point is: "Do that again. Please".
And funny enough - he tries this trick again. So I stay close to consealed spots and run whenever he gets close. Until he runs me over only this time TK me :) . The guy does not seem to learn. He goes at it again. And I keep making him mad by throwing health packs at him while he tries to run me over yet pulling out in time. He fails once again and gets kickout Oh, the joy...
Then, with a strange twist, I get booted to the other team which happens to have an empty mig29.
I knew then how this will end. My revange will be complete. I get in and hunt the second bastard down. Poetic justic at it's best.

          interesting ideas....

I constantly have to wait for the cobra/mi-28, and end up getting into a BH on a non-bh friendly map, or having to sit and wait...and then there's no guarantee the guy that just died won't sit on the pad for another run - and not freaking share.

Here's another idea, something simple that may tick off those that love to fly and not share, but if you think about it - it'd be fair...

..... Have the spawn time on the helos/planes be several seconds LESS than the player spawn time. In otherwords, you're running for the helo, 2 guys spawn closer and get into it. A while later, they die. BEFORE they are able to respawn and tk/fight you for it, the helo spawns. You've been waiting, so you get into it and fly away. When you die, those same 2 players are waiting for it - for their turn.

            Yeah...
            That's a real a shame.
Had times when I had to land the chope and get out of it to let those noobs crash it for them selfs. Times when i try have that gunner out... after some rides giving him a chance to do some usefull firings and not see any missile fired or correct gunnery, then I usually go back to the landing spot and say bail out, if he doesn't i land get off my self.:p

At what point did you start thinking I don't do that? :|:
I'm pretty good with guns, and I'm even better considering I have an average of no more then 100msec of response time while playing on ranked server.
"might actually do something useful for your team."? You have no idea how helpful I can be for my team when I'm in a jet. Really man. You just don't. I'm around 1200 in a jet, but my KDR with a jet, is at the top 100 most likely (could be the top 10, I can't really say because there is no such table, but ~24:1 KDR in a jet is very rare).
How do I help my team in a jet?
              1. Take down pesty enemy jets.
              2. Bomb tanks and APC which pose a big threat for ground soldeirs.
              3. Make bombing runs on enemy flags seconds before they get under my team ground troops attack.
              4. Bomb nutral flags seconds before they switch sides and buy my team more time to recap it.
              5. Defend flags at some cases (this is a risky buisness to bomb my own team's flag since guys can respwan while the bombs drop, so I don't do that much).
              6. Save the ground troops lifes more times then you think - and by doing that helping them cap flags and defend them.

Vehicles spawn fast enough as it atm, making it shorter will make destroying vehicles meaningless and will just turn games into one big vehicle whoring festival. Vehicle respawns should be increased by 20 seconds.

Or even more; - a limited spawn times (ex: 2/3 vehics spawn per round)....

That good would be good. Love to the see the smile on vehicle noobs when that gets implemented. Half the servers would be empty thats probably why it isnt a feature yet. Lets hope it gets added soon though

They could have set a training programme up, something like they had going in America's Army (the game).

Having to complete a very extensive training programme in single player to unlock the use of vehicles, aircraft etc...going through the basics of maneuvering choppers, aircraft, how to bomb etc etc..

I think it would be a good way of making sure everyone knows how to use all the equipment and not going through that learning curve on public servers in detriment to everyone's enjoyment of the game.

Yeah, I got a thought for you. Try fighting on the ground! It's easy, and alot more fun. All you got to do is man up enough to get the job done.

Playing commander and watching the team getting decimated, I can't stand seeing 20 guys standing around the airports waiting for jets. As a spec ops player on the opposite side, i love watching guys like you (who have been waiting your turn in line to get into a jet) exploding from my C4 shortly after take off. Sometimes I let ya fly around for awhile before i blow you up.

You can't always educate stubborn, disruptive, lame people - so you have to beat them into submission with rules.

If someone just happens to get to the APC before me on a re-spawn, I will usually TK them. The reason is they are usually a newbe and don't have a clue, or they are using the APC for transportation, and leave it stranded on the map so it won't re-spawn. If the person is not going to contribute to the sucess of the team using a jet, tank or APC then they need to stay out of it. Most people who really care, see that your the one for the vehical, and let you have it for the sake of the team effort. Those that don't get a shotgun to the head.

Quite frankly I don't think a touch and go is going to help. Because then all the n00bs are going to stand in the middle of the runway because they know you'll be touching down there, thus wanting you to TK them. Plus with all the hangars and random stuff around the runways and the lag in the throttle response, it's going to be more of a hassle than a fix.
