Its also about not spoiling other peoples game. You would kick someone who was TK'ing because it spoils their victims game. Same with cussing at someone. OK so he might have been playing badly, but you calling them a f'ing idiot is spoiling their gaming experience, so thats another reason to get kicked.

Honestly, that specific filter shouldn't be there. If someone wants to curse, let them. Do what other games did, and if a curse is detected, have a different filter that instead of warns them about their language and/or kicks them censors what they just said.

FYI, I am an adult. I served my country in the military, among other things. So, be careful about who you call a 10 year old. And BTW, cursing is not the exclusive domain of 10 year olds. Chew on that.

Any reasonable adult can see the reason for having these types of rules and any reasonable adult wouldn't come here and whine like a child because he was kicked because of it, this all sums up that you are a child or pretty close to it and the likelyhood of you actually being in the military are about as great as you being a quantum physics proffessor.

The reason these rules are in place is that although this game is rated it has a high percentage of younger people playing it and some people like to keep some morals for thier children, im sure when you get past the pre-pubescent stage you may want some of your own and im sure you don't want your children saying "**** you daddy" because they heard someone else saying it..

Tbh I have automatic monotoring of my server that actually gives a warning if you swear twice in a row it will kick you, it has varying degree's of swear word so the more hars the word the higher the status of the kick/kick-roundban/kick-permaban.

IRL I know adults who could make a Docker blush with their language, however when around children they watch their P's and Q's - if you were playing a game of football with a 14 year old and they made a mistake, would you call them an F'ing idiot to their faces? no I would doubt so, and if you did I would imagine that you would probaly get a slap from an irate parent.. end of discussion I think..

However I do understand banter and don't mind taking abuse myself as I sure can give it too, however in real life I can see who i'm having banter with, in a computer game I can't - would over 18's servers break the EULA?

No, instead they have the largest suicide-related vocabulary. Not being able to swear at your opponent can become quite frustrating I figure.

Mind you, this vocabulary and tending to commit suicide is part of their tradition, but I'd rather swear and be kicked from a server.

A lot of servers have this rule...sometimes explaining them in the load up screen, such servers are usually run by more mature adults. Cant blame the admin if hes following the server rules can you now?!
Never mind motormouthjones there are lots of other servers where you can cuss like a trooper, go find em.

I didn't call the admin an idiot. I have no idea who the admin was. In the game I called the COMMANDER an f'ing idiot for ignoring our repeated calls for artillery. I asked what kind of loser admin would institute such a language rule. That's not the same as calling that admin a name to his face in the game. Duh. Learn to process what you read before writing lame ass replies, Sparky.

maybe you should learn to follow rules (if these were the rules) or show respect for other people. you called the admin a loser for having stupid rules and you wonder why you got kicked? maybe people don't want to keep hearing or reading some little kid cry and swear because he didn't get his own way? sounds like you just need to grow up and learn some respect. thats the problem with all these little punks today. they just do what they want and then don't want to take responsibility for their actions. i swear a lot and hear it a lot. sometimes it gets annoying and you don't want to hear it.

I got a warning for saying DAMN the other day. I tk's someone on accident and I said something like "damn bro, sorry". Then I got the warning. I don't have any problem with people being kicked for swearing, it's their server and they pay for it. And people that sit there calling names like they're in 7th grade or something is pretty annoying. But saying damn? I would have never thought it.

What a gay loser admin. I was on a really decent spec ops team. We were under heavy fire for about 5 mins. I kept calling in artillery on our position (we were under a shed while the enemy was in APCs and stuff on the road). Over and over I kept calling in the artillery. The stupid loser commander ignored it or didn't know how.

Finally after getting no response I wrote him a message asking him why he didn't send us the artillery. He said "you didn't need it!" I called him a f*cking idiot. That's when I got kicked for bad language.

Look, what kind of moron would set up a server where curse words are kickable offenses? I don't know, I'm just don't get the reason for being so sensitive to a stinking curse word. Racism, yes, xenophobia, yes, but cursing? LAME!

It was like a double whammy. A loser commander and a silly no cursing server.

Feel free to disagree. I couldn't care less. It's my personal opinion, and I think it's stupid.

Well tbh, it's not your server. If the admin wants a decent, fun atmosphere, with everybody enjoying the game, they certainly have the right to kick you for your outburst. I personally would have warned you once, if repeated, I would kick + ban for life, that simple. Personal attacks such as calling people "idiots" etc, I have very little time for. Swearing is OK to a degree. Dont like the word "cu*t" used in anger though.

That very same attitude was apparent in BF1942. "You suck at flying planes, let somebody who can use them, use them". The ONLY way you're going to get good at something is to practice. You can't just produce skill out of thin air, things take a bit of time.

So next time you scream til you're red in the face at somebody who keeps losing control of their planes or helicopters, performs badly in the commander seat or whatever - just think back to the time when you couldn't do it. You wanted to practice, give them the same luxury and don't be so arrogant.
