I live in a house I bought myself, in a neighborhood, in a city. The only dumpster I've had close to my house was when I had my roof redone last year. I'd rather rent a condo then live in a trailer. Then again, I wouldn't rent, waste of money.

Ya it wouldnt be the first time somebody got kick for saying a bad word i mean its a game and when you get ****ed off everybidy knows your going to cuss so i mean admins just need to let it go its a word no harm done

One good thing would be a "cuss filter", essentially rendering any "bad" word into stars, like this forum has. 1.03 patch maybe?

Thrilling as this topic is. Their server their rules, go play somewhere else, there are plenty of servers out there. Using profanity doesn't show a lot of class, that may mean nothing to you, but it does to others.

A lot of servers have Deamon server control manager (or something like that :P) running, which auto-kicks for saying certain words.
But apparently, it doesn't autokick for negative scores
Yesterday I was playing on such a servers, and there was such a *** TKer on my team.
So, when he had a score of something like -100, I called him a damn idiot, once!
And of course, I got auto-kicked...

I laugh at all of you calling this a "family game" or you have to watch out for the kids. LMAO!!!! In this game you blow people up with mines, C4, tank rounds, MGs, SMGs and that's ok for a "kid" to do but for him to see a "curse" word it's something terrible. LMAO. A kid's game is Dorra the Explorer or some crap like that, not a modern day war game where the object is to KILL. Yeah let's teach kids it's ok to kill but not ok to cuss. People's priorities are jacked up. You clowns wonder why the world is getting worse and worse.
FYI, before you start in on me, I'm a grown adult, also served in the military for 4 1/2 years until I got out medically, I'm married and I have a little girl.

our server runs an automatic language filter and we have active admins as well. Inappropriate language, degrading remarks or harassing others will get you kicked or banned from our server, with or without a warning.

Our clan is an adult gaming clan, which means we expect players on our server to act as adults and know that certain language is inappropriate. Why do we do this? We don't want to read it for one, the second is that some of our members have children who play on our server as well.

Bottom line, if you cannot respect the server rules you will be removed. Testing the language filter to see what you can get away with will also prompt an admin to remove you. We can't hear you screaming or swearing in front of your pc, but it takes an effort to type it into chat, don't do it.

This protecting kids crap is just that, crap. A good parent (I have two grown kids, I served in the military, I own my own home, I work in a semiconductor test lab, so stop with the lame "grow up" lines) teaches their kids that there are certain things in life they will be exposed to. You also instill in them the right values so they recognize those things and avoids them or doesn't participate in them. You can't shelter them from all the bad things out there. It's impossible. You teach them. Sheilding them is silly.

Some of you are naive, too. Your kids hear more at school than they do on a BF2 server. Yeah, I called a lame commander an f'ing idiot. Your kid has heard, and probably said it all before. He or she will not be scarred for life. I just laught at the notion that a curse word on a video game will damage your kids. I know what is, you're afraid you will lose your tenuous control over your kid if he hears cursing.

Just don't let them watch Southpark or else you're a hypocrite.

And please, the next person that says "it's their server, their rules." No sh*t, Sherlock. We've acknowledge that already. Like I said, if they have that rule they should at least put it in the admin message instead of blindsiding people who, in the heat of battle, get a little annoyed. That's what it was, I was highly annoyed with a crappy commander who wasn't a team player. I was still heated when I came here and spouted off. So be it. Stop acting like you haven't done the same at some point, and learn that you have your ways of doing things and others have their ways.

One more thing, the last time I went to church was about 10 years ago when I was still married. It was a Methodist church. Our preacher who I became good friends with cursed like a sailor. He didn't curse around church but it was quite the laugh to hear him curse nonetheless.

I agree with the no cussing & name calling BS that goes on. There are even rules when you sign up for ISP service about the cussing or offensive or threatening behavior. The thing is that ALOT of the ones doing it ARE kids! You people say that online gaming is not the real world, as if the people that are on the servers are AI opponents. They ARE PEOPLE, just like that are at the malls, restaurants, etc. Some say that there kids hear worse at school & such. Does that mean you allow them to cuss on the internet? Or see you cussing at people on the internet or in "REAL LIFE" ? You are suppose to "Lead by Example". Thats whats wrong with the youth nowadays! Don't know how many of you ever had your mouth washed out with soap, or had the biggest Leather belt collection. (which meant when your parent said .. get a belt..didn't matter which one you picked) or had your ass lit up by a tree branch. You tend to figure out that the best way to keep from getting an a$$whippin, was to show some respect. So you people who have kids & allow it or make the kids think that this is APPROPRIATE behavior, should go have themselves clipped because you are the start of the problem! If you have to type cuss words or name call while playing a video, maybe you should get a new hobby.

OK...so, a re-cap:

1) A bad word is bad; that's it. To get offended by one is the first and foremost issue that most people have. If you feel that by being on the internet you will have a clean and sensible environment for your child, you have been misled.

2) Any person allowing their child to play Battlefield 2, before the age of 16, is deemed irresponsible. The game is rated "teen" meaning a 13 yr old child can play. Is this right? I don't know. Here is a comparison: an adult (18+)can sleep with a consenting 14yr old in Canada, is that right?

3) Any server which sets a rule against swearing, fine. We can leave and find another.

4) Your "teen" has heard cuss words and will pronounce and speak cuss words their entire life...whether it's in front of you, or someone else. To think otherwise renders you a fool.

5) "ESRB independently applies and enforces ratings, advertising guidelines, and online privacy principles adopted by the computer and video game industry" <-- The keyword here is "independently". What this means; A bias committee that controls what is deemed "good" and "bad". Here are two examples:

Good - You can shoot up entire neighborhoods, kill soldiers, take role of an escaped serial killer; essentially killing anything and everything

Bad - Sex and cuss words

As soon as you see nudity, hear bad language, it's "evil". Shoot someone though, no swearing, it's "good"
