i hate the parashoot...its a solid object...when i jump off a building and opend the parashoot i landed on my team mate and i killed him....i hate it

I have my buddy land on my chute and we both landed (jumped from the dam)

I have yet to kill someone with the chute, although I have jumped, parachuted, and landed beside someone slashing with the knife and getting a kill. I wish I would have gotten a BattleRecorder for that one!! :)

I think you can close your chute becuase on numerous occasions I have jumped off a building or whatever and while mashing 9 had my chute open (even had the little parachut icon on the side of the screen) and then had it close right after, and I fall and die.

I think you have to be careful about keeping 9 pressed after it opens becuase I think you can close it again.

Can anyone confirm this

Interesting...so maybe my button mashing is really closing it. That's weird. I do notice that it "sounds" like it is going to open and I appear like I'm falling slower...but I don't see the para icon and then when I hit the ground...well er...I'm "no more".

I've found that once you start hearing the whooshing sound, that's the time to hit the chute a couple times fast. :) Also, if you touch any part of anything with your feet on the way down, your chute will close. Like if you jump off a slanty cliff and don't get far enough away from it.

If the parachute wont open at least try and land on top of an enemy....

...I have tried closing my parachute after opening but haven't been able to. I think it just closes/wont open if you are too close to an object/building.

Just use the superman hack, and you won't need a parachute. You unlock it after 1000 drops .

Wait till your gun is tucked away, then hit parachute button!

Yep you CANNOT open your 'chute until your gun disappears from view. Wait for it to vanish, then hit your chute key. Will work every time without fail.

So I guess the rule is...jump off something high enough that gives you time to put your gun away and pull the ripcord...

Personally, the chute only works for me maybe 1/2 the time.

You can't close your shoot. And the answer to your problem is simple. You are not giving the shoot enough space to open. Make sure you ALWAYS sprint just before jumping off any building and make sure you are not next to any walls or trees or anything. You will quickly learn what gaps etc you can jump into and open the shoot.

I've jumped out of plane before and opened the chute and pressed again, no chute.

I dunno but im pretty sure you cannot close ur chute in midair! dont think it would make 2 much sense i had chute problems so i switched the it with the "toggle camera" key (C) and it seems to work easier. i find it much more accessible because u either have to take ur hand off the mouse or the keys to "punch" the 9key, with the C key its only a thumb away!!! lol
