We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
dude, you have a damn 7800GTX, you SHOULD BE ABLE TO RUN IT MAXED OUT AT THE HIGHEST RES AT OVER 60FPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, right now I'm running it on medium with almost no load pauses and a good 30-50FPS. ANd thats with just 512NB of RAM. I shouldAlso mention I have AF at 16X. I can't stand the ground getting blurry from 2ft. BTW, check Gamespots "near Final Hands on preview" of BF2, they ran it at all settings on HIGH(No AF or AA) with a 9800pro, 3GHz, gig of RAM.
its a 7800 gt, and i dont know why everyone says that i can run maxed, if i do it lags too much, i can run at medium, with like tex filtering-high, effects-high and aa 2x, and my fps still goes down to 30, the highest it gets is like 70. what is wrong, if its the ram, i already know u need 2 gbs to run maxed, what else could be the problem.
my friends runs the game on high at 1280X1024 with bno pauses at 40-60FPS with a----get ready for it-------------------------9800pro(OC'd), gig of somekind of RAM, AMD athlon 3200+.

First of all your 3DMark01 score is off by some 9000 points atleast. I get about 27500 with my overclocked 3000+ and a Radeon X800XT. Second 1GB (this is probably the last time I'm ever gonna say this) is not enough to run everything on high. Since you are running an AMD 64 with a PCI express graphic card (7800GT) you must have a dual channel motherboard with an nforce4 OR VIA KT890 chipset.
The first thing I would look for is that it is actually running dual channel with the memory. I assume that you have 2x512MB memory sticks? Then there are some other BIOS settings that come into question like the FSB/ memory speed which should be 200 if you have PC3200 ram. You have left out a really important piece of information in your specs and that is the motherboard.
The settings I run in BF2 is terrain on high quality, all other medium except view distance 100%, antialiasing off, texture filtering on high. Resolution is 1280x960 @ 85Hz.

thanks for the answer, now look at that mercenary, do u think u can run on high, and fix ur caps lock button, its stuck.
I CAN run all high with 6xAA 40-50fps(In game settings) BUT I have 2 gigs of RAM that is the real key to be able to run high settings as you need a boatload of RAM to store all the textures. I have recently turned my textures back down to Medium(the big stutterer anyway) just to make it run a bit smoother
P4 3.2E
X800XT(Cat 5.8s)
2 (2x1024) Gigs Corsair XMS 2-3-3-6
SB Audigy 2 ZS
19" TFT 12ms
BF2 settings:
All high(except textures)
6xAA
1280x1024@60
Another thing that REALLY helps is make SURE your GFX card is set to Application Preference and do the "Eye Candy" settings in the game.(forcing AA and AF in your control panel makes a mess IMO)
Off Topic but sort of on topic for thos that have a slight stuttering settings at high.
You should clear your "cache" files out this is a how to
NB FYI your in game "cache" files will be replaced when you first join a game again.
NB FYI you also should have around 600 ish max files in one folder.
NB FYI by doing this you have no fear of affecting anything to do with the game program or Punkbuster.
NB FYI You should keep an eye on the "cache" files from time to time as the more that is in the folder than needs to be your game will run slower and then stutter.
Lower your pings by unloading the cache files.. (worked for me, after, i installed the patch). Before uninstalling cache files 6 times normal ping, i got normal pings again after deleting cache files
Start > My Documents > Battlefield 2 file > mods file > bf2 > cache > any folder that look like {D7B7E2-080C-11F-C7-3AC2CB} ( or something like that ) open it/them and delete all that is inside or just delete the folder. You only need one folder like this.
You can also delete files that retain the servers logos sigs and info kept on your pc Start > My Documents > Battlefield 2 file > LogoCache > delete any and all files in LogoCache.
well why does it run so bad on low though? I dont think it is that, but even if it is, I should be able to run it on LOW atleast, but not even that. Anyway, now I'm buying thios GeiL RAM, and I"M MAKING SURE its comatible. I contacted GeiL(they said it is) and I'm finishing up on HP.
there are only a few companies that produce the chips places like ocz and geil and the like buy the chips and test them to certain specs to make sure they perform as sold
cheaper unbranded ram will have same chips on them but not tested and are also much less expensive
make sure if you are running in dual channel mode they are in the right spots
run memtest on them
if you overclock tune it back untill game is stable
make sure that you dont have too much running in background
You have to have background programs running, otherwise your pc will not work at all! there are always system apps going in the background. There may not be and programs like Word, or games, but windows have many programs that it is constantly suing to keep your on and in order. Check for them in the task manager (Alt + Ctrl + Delete).
