Did you clean your video drivers before installing the new ones? If not look at the post that is sticked at the top called "Video cards and usefull tools" or something like that, it will walk you through how to PROPERLY install new drivers.
Do you have the video card over clocked or no? Does it have artifacts or what is going on? "Glitchy" doesn't tell us much other then something isn't right.
ok i got 1 gb ram 1.7ghz amd xp processor and a radeon 9600xt with all updated drivers.
more often than not it lags for a sec, then my screen gets glitchy....would it be time for a new vid card or something else?
It depends on how savvy you are? If your MOBO + OS is runing ok then upgrade your CPU as 1.7 is min specs for BF2, and if air cooled, well, it will be running well hot and could be your problem as well (heat) "then" look at a vid card.

artifacts yes, thats what they are, and my res was high, maybe i will try it lower, but no its not overclocked......meh this gives me a reason to get a new video card and Processor xD
ok so i dont wanna spend more than $200 on a new card, what would be good to get? i was thinking of a x800xl, that caught my eye and looks pretty good.
