    M95: Bullet Drop

Many of you have seen my first video showing the M95 bullet drop. I made a new video to show this effect. It shows the drop for 2 400 meter shots on Kubra dam.

Sorry in advance for the poor quality, and lack of sound, I tried to make it as viewable as possible while keeping it under 10 mb to be uploaded.

Here are my other 2 videos, both the same, just the shot has been slowed in the second.

    Here is normal speed.

    Here is slow motion.

Bullet drop is where the bullet slowly arcs downward over a distance due to gravity. Therefor you must aim above you target for long range shots for the bullet to hit the target.

I recommend for everyone, to view my original movie, and its slow mo version first, as they are much more high res and show the effect more clearly then my newer video.

thats a cool vid, also i noticed the kill didnt register til about 1-2 seconds later, which means there is bullet travel time as well...

Zagashi could you please give me some tips on using the m95?

I'll give you a for-instance scenario to enlighten you to my dilema:
As the chinese sniper on Dragon Valley, I try to sneak up on the carrier, staying in the folliage on the far right mountainside just south of the carrier. I then proceed to shoot at the pilots who jump into the attack helos, each time adjusting my shot if I miss.

The problem here lies in the fact that I never hit the pilot when he is warming up the chopper. I aim directly at the pilot cockpit = no hit;aim a half-milimeter above the last shot= no hit; aim 1/2 mm above the previous shot= no hit!. The distance seems the same as in your video, however when I apply the rules of bullet drop I am not rewarded.

I would be forever thankful if you could record another video depicting several different distance shots with the m95 and the bullet drop compensation required for each. If not, no worries. Perhaps you could, if you have the time, go further in depth with the measurements you use to compensate depending on approximate distances to target and how you came up with those approximations.

            Thanks for your help

Where you above or below your target. Sometimes when above and aiming below, bullet drop is nulified. I have experienced this many time. And bullet drop isnt as much as you think. Remeber that first line below the crosshair is for 500 meters so try to use that as a guide for level targets.

                Did you prone while shooting?

                  Re: M95: Bullet Drop

Remember guys this is a physics engine, so gravity is applied and so is bullet speed. The real calculation of bullet drop and gravity as well as bullet-time is very complex but needless to say when your aiming across the horizontal plane gravity is strongest, slightly slowing down the bullet, but more importantly gravity has the greatest effect.

When Aiming upwards gravity only effects bullet speed, and possibly a slight bullet drop depending on the arc.

When aiming downwards gravity increases bullet speed and possibly again a slight bullet drop depending on the arc.

very useful thread this, well done zagashi, much appreciated.
now all I need to do is learn how far away things are from me and where I need to aim between the centre and first bar on the crosshair!

guns as in M16/G3/G36 ect? none - or not noticeable
guns as in SVD/M24/...? yes but differs for every gun (M24 = lowest drop rate)

imho the M95 needs to get that "negative bulletdrop" fixed.
And especially BECAUSE it is harder to hit something with it it should be 1hit-kill. but I realy dont want to discuss that again so: DONT COMMENT THIS SENTENCE! ITS JUST MY OPINION - YOU WONT CHANGE IT.

How can you be sure it wasn't just the deviation of the gun, which can just as easily go up or left/right?

Tbh there isn't many effective post on these forums, they all keep going on the same thing so I thought hmm not to go in here but after doing so I would like to say good job Zakashi. Although I can't view the video as of yet (work) I am sure it will explain a lot. But I might add that on when facing down on an opponent and placing your cursor directly on their upper torso does manage to get you the kill, but not always. I guess it takes a few extra shots of you don't take into account the bullet drop.

Drevor totally agree with you mate!
