Motion Sickness in some maps!

I've played fps for ages, came off bf42 never got motion sickness. In Fushe pass/Kubra Dam I get sick after about 5 mins play. Anyone else get this?

I get 80-90 fps and refresh rate is 85Hz, resolution is 1152x864.
I have all settings on low.

I've played around with different resolutions hasn't helped.
Apaarently some people get this sickness after playing half life 2 as well.

With halflife 2 some people get motion sickness too. Funniest thing ever to see.

As far as I know it's just one of those things. It happens to some people and not others.

Sit futher away from the monitor, so that you can see a lot of the stuff to the side. Have heard that helps.

I used to get this feeling from UT, never had this feeling from BF2.
It got so bad after 30 min. of play I felt I had to go vomit.

I've had a nauseous feeling after playing too much BF2, where my eyes are also seriously wired and a little light-sensitive. I wasn't altogether sure if it was computer-related at first (it still might not be), but on hearing your story it made me think that it indeed could be BF2 related...

I use a large 19" LCD and have since dulled down the brightness settings and instead of the blue colour setting (6500K), i now use the green (5400K). This seems to have lessened the occurrences.

I was part of a HUGE study in the military so I have much kowledge in this area, and also designed a trainer for the astronauts NOT to get motion sickness in space . . .

motion sickness is a result of the eyes/ears/brain have some form of disconnect

eg if you have a BIG screen, (or sit very close to your small screen, and ALL you see is a LOT of apparent motion, but your ears (the part of your body that senses motion) feels no motion, then your brain goes "huh??? - am I moving or not???)

this is the SAME RESULT as REAL motion sickeness
which is caused by the Opposite effect in a vehicle
especially when you are sitting in the back = this is when your body feels the motion, but your eyes do not see the motion (ie looking at teh back of the seat in from of you - ergo folks in the front seat get motion sickness way less often)

someone suggested sitting back from your monitor - technically this makes sense
so does taking a break every game - even by just tilting your head around and looking at the room (ie not the monitor)
and do NOT have your room totally dark
if the monitor is ALL that you can see - then your brain is tricked even more

after i play games for to long or even just onto the computer for to long i can barely keep my eye's open, im not tired it just gives me a headache if i dont close my eyes for a while.

Doom 1+2 on the playstation 1 used to make my mate feel sick, allmost to the point of throwing up, haha

I used to get severe motion sickness while playing HL2. I finally figured out that it wasn't my refresh rate or even the resolution I was playing at in the game. It was the sensitivity at which I had my mouse set up that was causing me to be sick. Once I turned down the sensitivity of my mouse, the sense of motion sickness I was having left and I was able to enjoy the game.

Sure, there was a price to be paid because my mouse didn't "respond" as quickly as I wanted it to, but it was a small price to pay to be able to enjoy a game such as HL2.

There was a period, when I didn't know it was my mouse, that I didn't play the game for well over a month because it made me so sick. I was only able to play an hour at the most before I was sick to my stomach and had to lay down.
