I've tried moving monitor back. This sickness is to do with how the textures load in the enviroment on maps Fushe pass and Kubra dam. Like how the mountain texture will sort of suddenly "Mould" as you get near it. ....
this might be distrubing to watch
but has nothing to do with "Sim (game) Sickness"
[QUOTE='[13]VisciousDog']Fast moving games I end up getting motion sickness. Examples: Tribes2, Half-Life, Half-Life 2. CSS. I noticed in graphic engines if you move around really fast, you will get this. Although, you can see on the graphics, that it is curved (Like a fish eye). This will help on getting that funny motion sickness when moving at a fast pace.
Here is some links to show (examples). So you can imagine what you are seeing while playing.
even though the fisheye gives you a 'false' view into the world, it has no effect on you when playing - only the relative size of the screen and the room lighting
relative = little screen very close or big screen far
=will effect you the same if they are the same physical field of view to you as player
BF2 hasn't made me feel queezy yet, but HL2 did to a point where I had to stop playing and lie down. The parts in that game that made me get motion sickness were the boat and buggy - but especially the boat. It was so bad that I couldn't wait to get out of that damned thing and back on my feet.
On a related note, the only other game that has ever made me motion sick was the original Castle Wolfenstein.
I've played fps for ages, came off bf42 never got motion sickness. In Fushe pass/Kubra Dam I get sick after about 5 mins play. Anyone else get this?
I get 80-90 fps and refresh rate is 85Hz, resolution is 1152x864.
I have all settings on low.
I've played around with different resolutions hasn't helped.
Apaarently some people get this sickness after playing half life 2 as well.
I think those two maps you mentioned are the most texture heavy anyway and require a lot from the hardware.
I read through the thread, and on a related note I thought it might be worth asking a question here: does anyone experience choppyness in the movement, when you're riding shotgun in a tank or an AA vehicle? What I mean is that the game runs smoothly with at least 40 fps, minimum, when you're on foot, but the instant you enter a moving tank with simultaneously rotating turret, suddenly it's like looking like a slide show or standing in the middle of an earthquake.
Granted, I play with a pretty crappy system, (AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 2,2 GHz, 1 GB RAM and an ATI X600 w/ 256 MB, with settings down to 1024x768 and all detail on medium), so that might be the reason. But is there anyone with a killer rig who never experiences any kind of slowdown or problems in the mentioned situation? I might never have the latest system for BF2 (or even dual 7800XTs in SLI ), so feel free to give me some hope by disproving the above...

ALL the time (buy not on all servers)
in fact as gunner on tank, if I am not lucky to get a pot shot - I yell to driver stop!!!!
I shoot, kill, then we go again
this even happens someties if I am driver on tank/lav - and rotate turret whille driving
I get HUGE angular jumps in the image
it makes me feel sick thinking bout Red Alert 2, i finished the campaign bout 45 times and raced through the skirmish mode, damn even talking about it ......ow crap :censored: "runs to the toilet" :dead:
