My real irk with some of these punishing morons is when you play commander and they run into artillery, what the hell is that all about...... idiots, even when you warn warn warn the moron squad merrily bunnyhop into the red circle. I mean what are people expecting, cant they work it out, i just dont get it. Arrrrghh bunnyhopping arty lovers, glad thats off my chest anyway, once more for the record, If you are a bunnyhopping arty lover please switch off your PC and find some rope and a strong beam. lol

the way i think of it, claymores are pretty much useless, if you set it around your spot, you'll mostlikely get shot anyways, only dumb knife hungry people would actaully chase around snipers with knives, not only that, the commander can take you out easily. i only use it around corners when i'm being chased, works wonders with me (though sometimes i do get killed)

I've run into my share of artillery strikes, usually while being very focused on a particular objective and completely oblivious to the minimap. I never punish though.

Oh, wait, sometimes I punish when my squad's doing a seriously amazing job defending a base against three APCs and a tank and the g**d*mn CO calls in an artillery strike right on top of us. I hate that. It's not like we can run away; we're cornered, so it's either death by enemy or death by friend.

Please don't place a claymore at the top of a ladder. You lock out everyone else from using that rooftop.

IMO, the benefit of 'protecting oneself' with claymore is outweight by TK's acquired from it, and the fact that you stop the rest of your team from using the rooftop of that building.

I personally find it annoying that I can't come up to share it with you, or as Supply guy, come up and supply you as needed, etc.

EDIT: I forgot to post the new icon they should use to warn you of friendly mines/claymores:

if i see you and your hoggin a sniperspot right next to a flag im gonna run inot your claymore and possibly punish you. dont be greedy and die like a man. and if you got a good set of headphones and your paying attention you can hear the guys coming up the ladder.

its also nearly impossible to distinguish which way is the safe way around a claymore...its more like russian roulette.

but seriously...youre asking for trouble if you defend a friendly flag with claymores. Thats a bad move on your part.

really it would probably be better if they just took claymores out of the game...either that or just freaking make it so theyre not triggered by friendlies

Ok I agree to a point, when you are in areas with a heavy friendly concentration...keep your claymores put away. HOWEVER, when you get set up by yourself surrounded by enemy with little or no friendly help you MUST protect yourself. If 1 other guy can't get up there to "share" it with you later on, tough sh*t, find another roost. As for resupply, if I need you help I will CALL for it and there won't be a claymore. If you see the RED SKULL you are not needed and your bag of ammo/ -4 points /loss of ladder defense to go with it are NOT WELCOME!

Why not create a squad (press 'INSERT') and have people spawn on you?

Personally I would rather they do that SOME times especially if there is alot of enemy armor near me and I'm not getting any kills with my M95.

The only problem is that you'll give your position away, most likely.

I guess the real problems aren't the accidental TKs themselves, but the idiots that punish them...

And in that statement lies the sole reason why people will run into sniper claymores on purpose, the militant anti-team attitude, the selfish "me" attitude that plagues online gaming.

An engineer can come from behind a claymore and pick it up with his wrench.

Problem is if you come from the front the Claymore has a 7m range, but you only get the warning at 10m...so you have 3m to STOP before blowing yourself up.

Try doing that when you're running and looking for enemies to stop on a dime like that.

Um, no. You think it's selfish that I want to protect myself when I sneak into an area full of enemy forces with no help? Did you even read my post? I said when there are numerous friendly forces around to keep the claymores put away. The only people I want to deny access to that building are the enemy, period...so I can stay up there for a while to HELP my team.
The selfish people are players like you who get ****ed because they can't just go up on any rooftop they want and stand there blasting away...hitting nothing...and giving peoples position away to other snipers and/or artillery.
So if players like YOU have a problem with claymores, I really don't care anymore. You go boom, I'll take the -4, replace the claymore if it's needed and keep on trying to help my team, and I wont think twice about it.
