We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
maybe i spent so much on buying my computer and am not earning any money cos i'm too busy playing video games, that I can't afford a mic!
Ever think of that??? :p
afaik Skype hugs a vast amount of bandwidth.
You need to forward ports 8767 (SUA/NAT) to your IP address for Teamspeak to work properls.
TS uses almost NO bandwidth nor memory, and has extremely good voice quality.
I tried using skype once but I had massive lag spikes ingame. So I uninstalled it right away. When you're connecting locally to TS Server use localhost (127.0.0.1) instead of your WAN IP.
TS is really worth it. I wouldn't want to miss it anymore nor use anything else - besides the ingame VOIP.
I've pretty much given up using the mic on CS:S after some 10 year old was on it constantly (think he was the younger brother of the admin). "Why'd you kick him?""OMFG, he got 2 headshots at once!!!!!" "Oh, wow i just missed him!""OMFG Simpsons is on" etc etc etc.
I know I could have left the server, but it is a good teamwork server.
I was in a good sqaud on Saturday (while the wife was watching X-Factor) and was using the VoIP. 4 of us defending a flag from tanks in both directions. Very intense action and good fun. Also quicker to say 'thanks' or 'Mines!' then typing it or command-rose etc.
I have no mic but i cant see many people understanding me even if i did have one as a crackly geordie mixed with russian accent cant be good to hear. i tend to cringe when i hear other players using mics ! some sound very sleazy its just all too close to the world of pervs on webcams for me !
