Hmm lets me make this plain...
Support is not meant to move around. You DO NOT run around with a PKM, or any other support gun, like a n00b and try to chase people down. Support is meant to pick a spot, go prone, and lay supressive fire. Very similar to a sniper in some ways. Do you knowwhy you get owned by SpecOps, Medics, and Assault? Because they catch you running around like a n00b and gun u down beefore you get a chance to go prone and aim. NO SpecOp, Medic, or Assault can own a support class if he is prone and in position to shoot.
The PKM shooting slow is one of the reasons it is better than the other 3 support weapons. The slower fire makes it easier to compensate for massive recoil. This is why the PKM is much more accurate than any of the 3 other support weapons. You can take down targets over 100m thanks to this.
PKM ownz in the hands of someone who really knows how to use it and play support correctly.

it does 45 damage while teh stock mec does 35 , the us and china do 25. It fires slower. It's extreemly accurate in single shot, but it recovers very, very slowly. Other guns you shoot wait half a second shoot. This gun you have to shoot ,wait like 1 or 2 seconds then shoot, but I'm talking about sniping distances here. IMO it's exellent in karkand if you play the class right. You can give some major suppresive fire, it makes a lot of noise and it is powerfull. Anyway the slow recovery is what kills most people, and is that thing that I have noticed before.

The only disadvantage for the PKM is that you are a good target for the 203 n00bs. i was playing at karkand and 90 percent of my deaths were from n00b tubes. they are the only kit besides snipers that can survive an encounter with my PKM

Until the assault guy pulls out his nooblauncher and noobnades you, i mean that thing is so unfair, it does better than a shotty at close range, they should up the damage to something like a real grenade so it would kill the user even if he bunnyhopped into the air while using it.
EDIT: i mean up the splash damage, then it would kill the user at 5m or less.

I don't know if the PKM is good or bad because i haven't used it but i have been killed with that gun a hell of alot lately. I dont like the M249 though i think its insanely inaccurate.

Yeah, a ton of unlocks are controversial. Here's a list of each:
G3: love/hate
M95: mostly hate, some love
L85A1: love/hate
PKM: mostly love, some hate.
Jackhammer: mostly hate, some love
DAO-12: love/hate
G36C: Almost all love.

Not as often as the Chinese one, it only has a 100 round belt, and it has double the rate of fire, the Chinese one runs out hte fastest, the MEC one is in the middle, and amazingly the PKM and SAW run out at the exact same rate. THe PKM fires twice as slow as the SAW, but the SAW has double the rounds inside one belt. So the pKM don't run outta rounds too fast.
