I've see the [ARTILLERY] quite a few times, I thought it was a bit strange.
Perhaps the [KORD] and [ARTILLERY] is what some of the burning wreckage models are called? Just a guess as you say it was wreckage that took the other chopper down.


In regards to weird [killed] bugs, I was really impressed when this happened:

Last night I was playing Mashtuur City as USMC. Within two minutes, the black hawk had reduced MEC down to one single spawn point. I was hiding in a building, defending a flag, so I had time to type... "This map is no fun when this happens"...

About 30 seconds later I got the "You killed" message, looked up and I had somehow managed to get three [Black Hawk] kills. I was nowhere near the black hawk at the time. I guess you take kills anyway you can get them! :)

I've also had a difibrilator kill come up as a M249 kill before - it completely lost the humiliation factor...

Hmm, no, [ARTILLERY] is actually...artillery. It happens when you...use artillery.

[Killed] usually happens when you damage someone but then they suicide somehow immediately after and you get the kill. That's what I've noticed, anyway.

" [ARTILLERY] Someone"
in capital letters and without specifying who fired the artillery.
If you resign as commander while the arty is firing, it still credits the ex-commander with artillery kills, so it's not this situation that causes it! It's just another one of those weird things that we all have to put up with.

Yes, the real [killed] message happens when weird stuff like the vehicle you are shooting crashes on someone. I meant [killed] as a generic term to cover all the weird "Alice [Pink Teddy Bears] Bob" type messages that occur every so often.

i dunno, the capital letters could be a connection yet with the [ARTILLERY] kills there is no killer, only a victim. I actually [KORD]ed a whole seahawk so i dunno wtf is up with that.

This type of thing tends to happen quite a bit in BF2 ... you'll get kills from some random weapon.

Don't know how it's coded but it does happen.

One time my teammate knifed someone and *I* got the knifekill.

Another time I shot a guy with my G36 and somehow got credited with an M203 kill.

I've never seen a Kord kill ... ever. Good job. :)

Ya its some kind of code problem obviously. I have actually shot down a blackhawk several times and it shows Hyper_Viper[Black Hawk]Fudge_packer
And several other kills that the person was driving or flying. So maybe in some future patch they will fix this. Dont' count on it in this next patch ;/
