I still doubt its real...
Like I said in my last post, this is huge news and would be an official announcement on their main site. There isn't a peep about this on any other forum nor the offical EA forum. On top of that, I have talked to management of 3 ranked server providers and they haven't heard anything about it much less gotten an email from ea.

Well I hope this is true. And who ever does have comms with EA should get them to send the word out about this in a more public way. People should be aware of this.

Yeah if they are threatning to wipe peopls stats they should at least make an announcement letting people know rather than let it spread by word of mouth

Wonder if the new 1.03 scoring patch is going to affect us medics and ammo supliers that play fair? E.g. you have a big choke point with a flag that gets captured a lot. I hang around there reviving (when it is safe to do so, not just reviving in the line of fire to get a point) or suppling ammo and capping the flag. My teamwork points go through the roof, and the wholesale slaughter is amazing fun. The teamkills from our commander's arty strikes aren't great fun, but it happens. Strange how the enemy doesn't expect medics to shoot back.

So I guess the new patch will mean that we get penalised for risking our lives defending, while the apache pilots and Linebakers get all the kills?

It is like playing the rumor game. If 10 people sit in a circle and one person whispers something to the person next to him, by the time it gets back around the circle to the originator it will be f&^ked up. I promise you! :)

I have been reporting these ranked servers to BFHQ@ea.com

They should NOT be ranked...private servers can do this all they like..I have no problem with that.

I only play to look at the airplanes flying over and listen to the birds fly when you disturb them, but people keep stat padding by killing me, just plain selfish cheats when your out for a quiet stroll on the battlefield. Where is Raylean the dirty old bat, can you knit me an invisibility cloak like wot frodo whassisname or that potter geezer got, thanks.

Anyway well done EA, about time.

i know for a fact that EAs entire stable of programmers is in reality just one 80year old lady called raylean. she does some programming after she watches her murder she wrote reruns, if she isnt too tired, and a couple of hours of knitting/programming on sunday after church.

EA does however employ over 4000 pr and advertising execs.

EA doesn't have programmers... they're a publishing company. :p

I know you were being sarcastic, but I just wanted to do my part in curtailing the belief that most people seem to have that EA made BF2. :)

Wow, this is just stupid? I mean, padding can happen in any server possible, even in EA owns. Knife\Pistol servers are fresh breeze of air after playing with other weapons. I have had many funs in serious pistol fights, where we both ran out of bullets and I won cos I was support.

Now these servers are ****'d up. Everyone is too scared to go there, and those who want just to have fun will have stats cleaned.

It's FINE for PRIVATE servers (i.e. non ranked). If you like that sort of gameplay, you will have no problems finding it on a private server.

You can still have your fun.

Oh...no way. They'd be silly to discourage server-side mods and the like. I always enjoyed an occasional round on such a server in the BFV days.

It just doesn't make sense for a ranked server.

I can find 5 'knife/pistol/revice' ranked servers via All Seeing Eye but no unranked ones.
