On close range yes. But no chance against assault if he´s more than 5 meters away

That is a serious underestimation of shotty power :)

I've made kills with it at 15 meters or a bit more, if I had cover to use when reloading

The title 'I hate armor!!!' makes me think of a poor single infantrist who's trying to cross Karkand bridges.. again.. and again.. and again.. and never the thought pops in to try a different approach.

Whenever I'm on the ground fighting I'm glad it's 'just' a tank, and not a jet.. the first can be fought, the second.. well.. if you get enough time for a last prayer, count your blessings..

i love Tanks and i think we've got more then enough troubles in it.
Tank Drivers have to look out for Anti Tank Rockets, C4 Packs, AT Mines, TV Guided Missiles, Helos, Planes........
So wtf are you complaining about? The one and only real balancing Problem in BF2 are the f***ing Planes, they are much to strong and no Tanks so pls STFU!

have you been playing a lot of karkand lately? lol. if you are, and you're MEC, DO NOT spawn on the first flag (near the USMC's spawn points)! you'll get raped by tanks on both sides plus PKM users nearby.

whats the beef with armour? driving a tank makes you a big fat audible target and lets not forget a tank cant hide from an infantryman.... as a previous poster said the risks are balanced

I play armour a lot. Get a decent squad on the other team with a couple of AT and it makes armour very difficult to use. Get an unskilled team and its just one big kill fest for me. There are numerous ways to destroy armour yet only one ineffective way to kill a flying jet thats where the inbalance lies.

I do laugh when I see the same player making the same mistake time and time again then getting upset because I have killed them a few times.

How can you like choppers but hate armor? I love armor because being able to destroy it or with it is cheifly strategy. In infantry, it's often about how fast you can hit the space bar and how many unlocked guns you have. Also, unlike helis, artillery, and jets, if you get killed by armor, it's always partially your fault.

This topic is laughable. Armor can be taken out by just about anything, except a rifle or MG. How can anyone complain about armor when it is so easy to kill??

Now jets, on the other hand...... I got a serious problem with jets as there is virtually nothing that can take them out 'cept another jet.

So true,everyone hates jets, armor hates jets, infantry hates jets, choppers hates jets, jets hate jets.

Compared to jets, Armor is just as weak as infantry, if not more because it shows up on HUD where infantry dosnt.

Ummm did you forget what game your playing???? Armor is made to wipe out infantry and take out other armor so what are you complaining about?

If your running around in your little flak jacket what do you expect when you face a tank or APC with MUCH bigger guns?

I really don't understand you people, why are you playing battlefield when you don't like vehicles?????

I believe because unlike in BF1942, infantry combat is actually fun now and people are bothering less and less with the vehicles (which were revolutionary in 1942..)

I know how it feels. I had no problems with vehicles in '42, maybe a little with the planes but at least they were rather easy to shoot down. Now sometimes I get so involved in infantry combat and I'm having a blast and then all of a sudden some idiot in armor comes along and there's absolutely nothing I can do about it. Breaks the fun sometimes, y'know? Not everyone plays spec ops or anti tank or engineer, and it can be frustrating. That's why Sharqi, Karkand, and Mashtuur are as popular as they are; and those spiting the vehicles should be looking forward to the Special Forces expansion because they said they're focusing on infantry combat and small, infantry-related vehicles like jet skis and buggies.

Sometimes there are no heli's or jets to take out armor on maps like karkand. Thats when i slap a few C4's onto a jeep and drive it straight into a spawn raping APC.

There is so many ways armor can be killed. C4, AT mines, rocket launchers, TOW missiles, helos, planes, other tanks and APCs. Killing tanks with rocket launchers is extremely satisfying. The real problem with BF2 is the planes. If they made the Stinger and IGLA missles more maneuverable, BF2 would have almost no problems(except for noob tubers). I would love it to just shoot down those stupid planes that never die. Plus, taking away armor would screw up the game so much with airpower centered levels like Oman and Wake.
