To my greatest amusement I was accused of being a tank whore... on Kubra Dam. I was playing with engineer, captured flags, killed enemy infantry and armor and choppers. (the MEC side did not have jet pilot, and only one chopper pilot lame enough to crash with the heli about 50% of the times) armor pilots were weak too: i shot many of them without even taking damage. So I had about 34:3 K/D ration and about 40 teamplay points (mostly captures) when I killed a guy 3 times in a row as he came to our main base (with DPV), he began to **** me off with messages like 'Get out of your tank you whore and fight normally, you are noob lamer s*ck my d*ck lamer noob'. I said I fight normally in a tank too, so if you dont like it GET IN A TANK AND COME AGAIN. He did. Three times. I only had to get out to repair once. Then he did not play anymore, but flooded the chat with messages, calling me noob, lamer, looser, tankwhore, etc, etc. Almost everyone on our team laughed on the poor soul....
So you, dear poster.... live with your opportunities, and put up a decent fight and don't complain if your ass is pwned. It is your fault. The more you complain, the clearer the picture is: you don't know how to fight against armored vehicles. And that's not our fault: it's yours.
MeatPie: there is only one kind of tank driver that I call camper: who goes into the opponents uncappable base and kills infantry, and vehicles before the opponents get a chance to get in. Every other use of an armored vehicle is fine by me.
You kill my squad with tank? Fine, we spawn as AT next time and you get your 3 shots.... only lamers complain who get shot by a tank, spawn again at that base (with medic again) and get shot again.

If you don't like the tanks killing you, stop crying; grab an AT kit, an Engineer kit, a Spec-Ops kit, another tank, an APC, a mobile AA, an attack chopper, a fighter, or a bomber; and take care of business. Are these not enough options for you

Well said... For everytime I've raped in a tank, there's been a time when I've gotten too close to the infantry and either been c4'd, AT'd to death / etc.. Armor isn't unbalanced, and whining about it is lame....there are 3 classes that can take out a tank all on their own, not to mention the above ideas of using another vehicle...

Also - make sure to spot this stuff... I dunno how many peeps do this, but when I'm in a helo and guys are spotting the enemy helo, or enemy armor, then we're johnny on the spot - flying over to mix it up with them...

Aggreed. There are enough ways to kill tanks and APCs for infantry. But maybe some people hate that there isn´t a way for assault to kill a tank because they don´t want to play as engineer or AT because of the not very effective main weapons of these kits? Well, I often feel that way, too. I mean, ok, like next time I spawn as AT or Engineer to kill that tank in our base. But what will I do afterwards? With the pumpgun or MP5 I´m no match against coming assault threats. Well, I´d say that´s the point when it comes to team-play BF2 is all about. The other squad members will do that work while I stay in cover.

On close range yes. But no chance against assault if he´s more than 5 meters away

Pick up a kit from a fallen comrade or enemy. I do it all the time. After a siege, there are plenty of kits around :)
I even used to do that trick to pick up a support kit from dead body, drop some ammo, pick up a medic kit, drop health, then pick my original kit back. You can get some extra points, especially if you are defending a base, and have nothing better to do.

yah i do the same, while I unlocked the jackhammer, and have good success with it, anything at med/long distances is a waste of time... Usually I'm playing w/clanmates, and if a tank is pwning it up we'll have 2-4 guys spawn as AT and take it out.

Afterwards u can usually find an assault kit or specops kit laying around, this helps quite alot..heck, I've even picked up a kit, dropped it to switch back to the AT, and then went back to the assault...:)

Armor really isnt unfair. You can just blow it up with c4 or a rocket launcher. If youve gotten really sick of it and cant kill it with a rocket or c4, just put c4 on the front of a vodnik or hummvee, drive up to the tank, and blow up the c4. Thats what I do when a tank just wont be killed. 90% of the time, the tank doesnt even see you. Beautiful.

Yeah, because there are never enough spec ops, or AT guys on a server. :hmm:
A better answer is play on maps with less armor, helos etc.
Hopefully we can get some inf, jeep only maps made up. It blows to be in a 20 guy firefight, than suddenly gettin decimated by a helo.

If you ask me, an armor pilot would think that planes are unfair. Its really fun to kill tanks though, and extremely satisfying.

The onyl downside to armor is the respawn time.
As soon as you destroy a tank the driver will just respawn and his tank will in 10 sec later, then there back again.
its stupid, all the work you have to do to destroy a tank and before you know it here it comes again.
Some guys dont even play maps ever CQC, they get in a tank drive it till it gets detroyed and they die then they respawn right next to it and hop in it 10 sec later and come right back at ya.
So basically once a tank is destroyed, you have about 45sec-1min. till its back.
which is lame.
