Yay! Another whore! I never seek out to whore, but if a SL is in a BH, I won't hesitate to spawn on him when I die! I was gunning for this l33t guy on Kubra Dam and got 100/5! 4 deaths ground poundin, and 1 when we got stingered.

When i hear that you must " have fun before thet take it out in the next patch " i always go... WTF??

they said they are gonna tweak how the points work, they didnt say they were gonna inabilitate the bh for capping.

I guess its points inside the chopper the thing they are gonna tweak, like for example the driver not getting so much drivers assist and only the driver getting kill assists etc...

If you load a Bh and cap flags with it that should GET REWARD FOR ALL TEAMMATES. PEriod.

Thanks Teeves for not dragging this post down to a slug fest of words. Sorry Xiyrling for the length of my post too-I just don't wanna be mistood-plus its my first post.

One last thing to add, with as much as people complain about chopper whoring I havent really witnessed it but on rare occasion where a server has the optimal conditions i.e. no good pilots to balance it out. Kinda makes me wonder why its such a big deal. Only real complaints I have with the choppers is the complete ineffectiveness of the opposing transport helos machine guns.

Maybe it's just the fact that like 90% of the maps have Blackhawks on them (not really a true percentage, so don't come to me with your nerdy math skills), or maybe it's just the fact that finding a good server with a map that DOESNT HAVE BLACKHAWKS is extremely time consuming?

Either way, it's more trouble than it's worth. :p

That's the right attitude, if someone gets you then cop it on the chin and improve your skills so you can have a better chance of getting them next time, or modify your tactics so it doesn't happen again.

I have no problems on an apposing team to the USA when they are BH'ing. When i hear that thing coming i keep an eye out for it and how it's coming in to the flag and how i can effectively hide (because i'm usually a medic if i'm not in armour). Then recap the flag while waiting for some B*stard to spawn and try and take me out. Not run around like a headless chicken when that BH comes along like some people do. It really ammuses me when i'm in the BH and people do that.

What I wonder is how 'fun' the BH would be, or how valid the point made by some of 'teamwork' would be, if points were not involved. For myself, I find sitting in a BH incredibly easy, takes less skill and attention, and is incredibly boring. It's all about points if I sit in one of those, not gameplay.

On non-ranked servers, is the BH as predominant?

Re: A Humble "Chopper Whore" Responds

Great post batgod.......being someone that feels the same exact way as u it was a pleasant read...

Our clan loves to get in a bh, 3 engys, squad leader flying & medic, and a medic and resupply as gunners.....however, this isnt ALL that we do. Plenty of times another squad gets the bh, or we're on mec/china, and we deal with it.

At times, we camp a flag with a few AT's, someone in a vodnik or apc, and we blast the BH out of the air. Done that many times....

Another great example - Songura Stalemate, we're on Chinese, and we take the Chinese transport helo (as we call it - the Hoopde) and try to out flag-hop the 2 BH's in the air. When it was done, I had racked up 127 points as the pilot, 125 of them teamwork points. BUT, the main BH crew had 777 points as a squad, and my paltry 127 wasn't enough for even the bronze star.

When the 2nd side came up, we ditched the helo, took the base below the USMC base (preventing them from a 2nd BH), and used the stinger / AT / and APC's to destroy the BH a few times, never loosing our flag - and having more fun than the previous round.

My point is, if you want to BH whore effectively, it takes communication and teamwork. If you want to fight this tactic, guess what, more teamwork. And not all BH whores are guys that do it all the time...certain maps help with it, others are a death sentence for the BH. As batgod put it, learn to aim & shoot, and get in a squad that actually participates in teamwork -- if you want to take one down, and stay focused on it, you can....

i'd like to know that too.
i like how everyone says it takes skill. like other people have said, since when does holding down your fire key while holding a spanner count as skill? how does sitting there with your medpak out count as skill? how does moving a crosshair across the screen and spraying an area with 100000 bullets a second, that also have massive splash damage, count as skill? the only skill in bh whoring is from the pilot who can fly and hover. other than that its just fly and shoot anythign that moves and repair. there is no skill to it.

Yeah I love how the whores talk about the team work involved in the chopper. I mean they pressed the E key to get in. Ride all map holding the wrench button down. They get 100 to 200 points for that.

I guess the only counter to the black hawk would be a tank that had 6 positions in it, seeing the blackhawk takes 2 tank shell hits without having an engineer in it. Yeah a hover tank with two gatlin guns on it and ports for the engineers in the back to shoot and drop mines.

I too would like to know if the BH are used as much in un-ranked servers, going to try a few tonight and see.

I agree with the person who said the the points could be adjusted, but stopping capping would be the smallest change to rectify the situation. although i though making the transports guns have an ammo supply would help as well. at the moment you can litterally fire constantly if you "feather" the trigger a bit as it gets hot, without needing to stop the barrels spinning at all, for the whole map.

Maybe if they had a relativly small ammo supply and needs re-arming at helipads, just like planes, this might also calm them down a bit. or stopping them being repaired from the inside would make them more like the ground based transports, Only the boat can be repaired in motion and thats semi-realistic as combat RIBs can be inflated on the move i believe.

what if we dotn want to be AT ?
what if we are not in a vehicle ?

You say just pick up an AT kit ... they are ussually not at my feet !!!
You say shoot it with a Tank... Im not ussually in a tank...

I dont really care about BH whores... i ussaully just shoot them down if i can... and if not... I just hide... They go away... I take back the flag and get 2 more points... BH people are ussually idiots...

Yes that includes you (original poster) Take a flag, then just leave without any defence... You score points for yourselves... but do not help your team AT ALL.... Big, selfish, waste of time...

But thats fine with me... i will just rack up the Flag neutralize and capture points .... Your BH means nothing, unless you leave at least one guy behind to defend it...

                              Have fun

The american AA vehicle can be repaired in motion as well, granted that the position on top is a very vunerable one. I love sitting on a AA vehicle and making it survive much longer than it would alone.
