everyone always refers to the keys as there defaults, as in "X" for smoke. Do so many people really play with the default key layout?? surely "X" is a nightmare for countermeasures because you have to take a finger off a movment key to press it??

I still use X as the 'smoke' and 'flare' default and have no problems with using as such. My thumb is positioned over it anyway so I use that.

how do you slide down ladders? O.o

i didnt know you could right click on the map when you open your squad menu (caps lock default) and as a squad leader ask for supplies and uav, etc.

I did not know about the ladder slide until that thread was made about it awhile ago. I also did not relize the jets have afterburners till like 3 days ago. That's all I guess.

I didnt know there was a commander for the first few hours I played, I was wondering what gun or weapon caused those artillery strikes

I also, liek the thread starter, didn't know about firing the machine gun on the tank by pressignt he right mouse butt on.

I did'nt know about the "C" thing until a few weeks ago.

I did'nt know about Sliding down ladders till last week, and I did'nt know about the Duck on mounted MG"s until a few days ago.

ducking on mounted mgs caught me off guard thought i could only be done in vehicles

the last thing i found out about was pressing the 'alternate fire' key while having the 'communication rose' up and you can select what you spotted, so you can spot a boat or aircraft on karkand if you want.



have to try that 'C' camera mode out sounds good, thats got my +1.

I'm too used to Duke 3D where you have to use the keyboard to look around. Only just realized the other day it's the mouse and I've had the game since it came out.

Lol thats funny :laugh:

I took me awhile to figure out how to switch to ground bombs on aircraft and had to look very noobish and ask in the game how the heck to do it. (its default 'f' key for those that dont know )

Most of the other stuff i found out on my own, except the ladder slide thingy which i still dont think ive used in a combat situation.

yah I don't think i've ever slid down the ladders. i've always hit the parachute key.
