My game runs wayyyy better with the 5.8s. I don't know what you guys are smoking but pass that shit my way.

Mike, ATI gives a driver remover that works fine.

indeed it does, you can either use that, or if you want something a little most multi-purpose, use Driver Cleaner Pro

Am I the only one who is happy with the 5.8 drivers?

Using an X800Pro here , used to have the 5.7 drivers, and now the 5.8.

But, the first installation of the 5.8 with CCC didn't go well, and I had some errors, now installed it without CCC and they work perfectly and in BF2 my FPS has rised from 35-50 Fps to a 45-70 Fps with peaks of 90Fps , everything high,2x AA .

Also the shadows are good now, they used to be bad, but now they are smooth, the moving mountains, well don't have them anymore.

At this moment, the 5.8 drivers are doing realy realy good to me

They're working perfect for me, I even noticed a small FPS boost since 5.7! Also, I haven't noticed any of the old glitches, even though I've only used the new drivers for about 4-6 hours.

Oh, I'm using a PowerColor RADEON 9800PRO 128mb.

5.8s hooked me up....no more black textures or swimming pools(always seemed to get it the most for me) better startup times/less overall lag so far im pleased and i dont have to oc the ram and card to get that extra boost anymore that caused a lot of crashes....

I reinstalled windows and reformatted my computer and I still have slow frames when my settings are anything above low. It's the same way for other games such as counter strike. AHHHHH I need my own personal tech lady.

Your CPu is a bottle neck to your video card.

Rather than pissing and moaning about how bad you guys THINK the 5.8s are, why not post what video card you're using. Lets see if it's a problem with a specific card.

Yea 5.7 were terrible. Once i installed 5.8 omg what i difference.

I'd love to know if someone with a X300 has seen an improvement with 5.8.

Cats 5.8 make my BF2 much smoother. Never had a black texture problem in any version. Im using an ABit Radeon X600Pro.

The only reason I am keeping mine at 5.8, is because it seems to help the "black texture" problem I was having. My X800 XT-PE still chops, and studders like no tomorrow, but atleast I don't have black textures along with it.

Lets face it ATI guys, we're always going to be getting it from behind when it comes to nVidia sponsored games..

Well I really wish my issues would get fixed. I no longer have the melting mountain issue has be resolved with these new drivers and for me over all these seem to work pretty good. My largest issue is I still get artifacts showing from time to time. And yes before to many go off on it I know those normally come from over heating. Not really sure though that is what is happening on my end. Any rate I will keep hoping they continue to work these various bugs out for us ATI users.

5.8's are doing me a great service too, the only thing for some unknown damn reason i'm getting rejected from servers for having modified content since installing them.. go figure huh?
