I've played both sides when it comes to chopper-whoring, and to be honest I don't care either way.
You need to work as a team to keep the choppers airborne, and you need to work as a team to bring the choppers down. The problem isn't with the choppers, it's with the enemy who don't want to work as a team (even for just a couple of minutes) and therefore get owned, well you know what... TOUGH!
Personally, I'd hope EA/DICE make very little change to it.Comment

We know what your point is, j. It was quite clear in your first post. You are the epitome of selfishness and greed. Did you have to look up epitome in the dictionary? Do you own one? It's so much fun having people like you in the Game. A TEAM game, mind you. But I guess we're stuck with your type. But here's the sad news for you, if you aren't the Number #1 Guy on the Planet you ain't squat as a Lone Wolf.Originally posted by j4k3my point is,Comment

How many people are in the chopper? 6?Originally posted by BojamijamsOh I'm sorry, how am I supposed to shoot them down exactly? Whe the miniguns that eat through anything are shooting at you all the time and the god damn chopper takes more hits then an abrams, it takes quite a while to bring it down. And since they got 6 buddies on there, chances are, expecially since they're little *****es, they're all probably engies.
Then why would you expect to bring BH down alone, when there are 6 people on the other side? Can you take out 6 people in frontal combat easily?
Get a squad, and you'll see black hawks raining.
You take them out by:
1) Don't be a hero. Don't jump out and start shooting, when you hear BH, in hope of taking it down. If you're alone, wait for them to hover and see if BH is positioned in such a way that you can put grenade or AT missile inside. If BH is "looking" right at you, try to hit a chopper pilot. However, if you're alone, better simply hide and let them leave, then recap the flag (with hope noone will spawn at that flag
). If you really want to shoot at it badly, try to get UNDER the BH, so that gunners can't get you. Try to make sure you have some cover nearby, if BH starts "rotating". Also, watch out for C4 falling from BH and detonating on your head :) Simply, you can not take out BH *alone* unless you're in AA vehicle, tank or AA defense. (ignoring the choppers/planes :))
2) Using the squad. If you get few guys together (you don't need 6, I've taken BH down w/ 3 guys squads many times) you can either take BH down, or make enough damage so that it leaves. You must have AT in the squad. If you have more ATs - better. Support gun can also make some nice damage to BH. It will not take it down on its' own, but pilots don't like seeing their chopper 'health bar' steadily going down. When coupled with few AT missiles, it's nice combination.
3) Using the "right tools". Get into tank. Get onto jeep. Get into APC. Get into AA vehicle. Get onto AA missile (stinger/igla). 2 jeeps can make a LOT of damage to BH. Can take it down, actually. If you're too scared to hit incoming BH w/ jeep guns, then hide and wait for it to cap the flag. When it start leaving (turns your back), jump onto jeep and hit it. If you have 2 jeeps and squad members around - even better.
4) Use the tactics. People always complain how BH is "overpowered", but it wouldn't be it if had nowhere to take-off from. Take the CPs where BH spawns. Of course, that can't be done on all maps, but I hear people most complaining about BH on Mashtuur City. Well, you know what? You take the CP where BH spawns (and DEFEND it), and there is no more BH. Piece of cake. But it's another problem that people would rather try to get gold medal and make most kills, instead of winning the game as team. I like to defend, and I have no problems with BHs.
5) Get into chopper, and ram the BH. Get into plane and shoot down/ram the BH. Hell, drop supply crate on BH (if it is damaged already), and you might destroy it (happened to me twice, so far :))
There is also a bug which helps sometimes. Engines onboard BH sometimes can not repair the BH. Not sure why, but it happened to me many times. Chopper is damaged, I am having the wrench, and circling around in my seat trying to get 'double-circle' to show up so that I can repair the BH. However, no matter what, I can't repair the chopper. Changing positions sometimes help, but not always. When this happens, BH is easier to take down.
Some of the nicest gaming moments were when BH would come down to cap the flag, and 5-6 AT missiles from different positions around the flag would suddenly start going its way at the same time :)Comment

Re: Transport chopper whores
My god man how fun would the game be if everything was balanced....at that point we all should just run around with a pistol now how FUN would that be....its a game a BH is way bigger than a infantry guy and a Plane is way bigger than a BH... quit your bitchin and get on with it...seriously unbalanced hahahaha yeah and the tank is real balanced to the AT common now....Originally posted by glasseyeffs ppl, not everybody is like you. some of us play the game for fun. not everybody finds using an unbalanced vehilce to rack up easy points fun. if thats what you think is fun, fine. just dont assume that those that dont like unbalanced gameplay dont like it because they cant do it.
really? instead of just saying that, why not go test it? i have.
its been said many times the calling a blackhawk team 'teamwork' is really stretching the meaining.
one pilot, two ppl shooting anything that moves and three ppl holding down fire on the wrench is not teamwork.
i believe i already answered that. but you wouldnt want to read that now would you?Comment

did you purposefully miss the point or do you really not know what game balance is?Originally posted by SuperDonkeyMy god man how fun would the game be if everything was balanced....at that point we all should just run around with a pistol now how FUN would that be....its a game a BH is way bigger than a infantry guy and a Plane is way bigger than a BH... quit your bitchin and get on with it...seriously unbalanced hahahaha yeah and the tank is real balanced to the AT common now....Comment

Re: Transport chopper whores
Solution: If you see a blackhawk coming, hide behind some sandbags or something if you have a nade launcher, or an Eryx, pop up when they're hovering low, shoot into the passenger area, bodies will fly out, the pilot will be like "OMG!" and frantically fly away, probably ending up in a tree in the process.Comment

Re: Transport chopper whores
Someone on another forum hit the nail on the head when he said of the BH,
'It's like an annoying fly. Hard to kill, but easy to shoo away.'
I always play as AT, so this is particularly true for me. Whenever the BH comes around, I'll seek cover and watch it. When I get a good angle, I'll go to work on it. If it settles over the flag in a direction perpendicular to me, then the gunner on my side gets offed. If it's at an angle, then either the pilot is dead or 2 or three of his engineers. Either way, they're outta there after that. But if they found me near a FAV, Armor, Stinger or TOW, they're dead meat.
Of course, this is far apart from the tactic that other point hunters employ, just grabbing a jet and continually ramming them throughout the map.
I used to think that chopper whoring was a cheap tactic myself and hated it, but after I got better at getting rid of them, now I just think of it as good sport. It'll be a shame if EA nerfs it too much. I agree with the previous poster that if they do, then it'll probably just sit at base doing nothing.Comment

Re: Transport chopper whores
A large number of the Anti-BH tactics rely on a good deal of luck to work, when you pop up from behind the sandbags you have to hope that the BH isn't at a weird angle and heaven forbid a gunner even sees one pixel of your character model.
But it is possible to disable or outright destroy a BH with a good combination of teamwork and luck. One thing that does kind of irk me is the fact the BH's chaingun can eat through an APC's armour like a fatman through cake. All the 7.62mm ammo in the world won't get through an APC's armour because they're basically all proofed against 14.5mm and above.Comment

Re: Transport chopper whores
Don't forget fixed machinegun emplacements. At the SE base where the tank spawns in Mastuur City, there's a fixed machinegun that points directly at the Masque!!! What's kewl it too is that you have a tree partially concealing you.
If you haven't hear already, if you're an AT, you can 1-shot any fly vehicle with wheels (i.e. Blackhawk, Mi-28, etc...).
If you hit the front or back of any of the wheels (not the side), it'll destroy the Black-hawk in 1-shot. Search the forums for the movies that show people in-game shooting down full Black-hawks!!!
The best movie is this guy at the NE (main USMC base), as an MEC. He's just to the west of the flag near the fence. A black-hawk comes in and is hoving over the flag just south of the building. He angles up and shoots down the Black-hawk in one AT shot.Comment

Re: Transport chopper whores
Not my problem if you can't shoot down a heli. We were taken down pretty easily when the MEC finally got an anti tank to shoot at us, or have a couple of humvees take us down with that damn .50 cal.
Great tatic if you ask me. If it wasn't for us taking flags and protecting our guys, we would not have stood a chance. Just get smart and use teamwork to take it down.Comment

Re: Transport chopper whores
Me = Biggest BH whore ever = Top Ten overall and Number #1 in TEAMWORK by at least 10,000 points.
The fun is all the roles you play in the BH as I've stated in my earlier post and consistently playing with good squadmates who have become friends. 100+ points a round on average is icing on the cake.
lols....stop complaining and start trying to take us down.Comment
