I rarely climb into one of those choppers, too many bad pilots out there. But geez, don't freak out about flag hoppers, they don't have the amazing edge everyone says they do. This is why god built us Stingers.
You can ***** about the teamwork points, but hey, they found the best way to manipulate the system within the rules of the game. Go for it. Just cross your fingers that EA takes notice and makes little adjustments.

Funny how the B-whores allways overreact to threads like this one - wait for the patch and you all will have to earn your points on the ground as the rest of us do - I hope many of us will use their advantage because they know how the game is played on the ground - will look funny if the B-whore-engie runs in front of your gun wrenching with his wrench which is probably the only thing he can do... will look funny seeing all those sergeants with tons of points running around with their wrenches... guess what!!!! They will leave BF2 for good...

I was in a game this morning with about 20 guys per side and my side had, maybe, 6 people in Squads. What a joke.
my point is, as far as i know, you DON'T get any bonus if your team wins! you get NOTHING! except if you're the commander obviously. so why would i give so much effort into making sure that my team wins? i won't get anything if i do that!

if having your team wins everytime is fun for you, then, GREAT! but that is not fun for me. fun for me is getting a ton of points.

so again, if anyone can correct me about not getting anything if your team wins, then please do so and i will try to help my team win.

and no, i don't leave anybody behind when i'm in a bh. everyone knows capping flags is faster when there's more people capping it. in fact, when i don't have at least four guys on my chopper, i will land it near an area where there are a lot of friendlies and keep yelling "hop in." then they'll get a ton of points. then they'll join my squad next round.

which is EXACTLY the reason i'm trying to be a tank whore. if the 1.03 patch really does nerf the bh, then i'll keep whoring away... this time, in a tank!

oh please. every strategy the defenders of blackhawks give for taking it down either rely on sacrificing another chopper/jet or the pilot and crew of the blackhawk being totally incompetent.

lets play a game shall we? its called 'whats your excuse now?'

~use stingers. stingers miss for no reason. even if they hit the blackhawk is fully repaired by the time you reload, if you havent been nuked by the miniguns.
~shoot it down in a fav. how many reheats does it take to do that? how blind must the pilot and gunners be to let you live that long?
~shoot it down w/ a tank. takes 2 hit to drop it, if the pilot isnt too high to hit, if he stays there long enough for you to hit it again and if the pilot doesnt just hover above you so engineers can drop mines on you.
~shoot the ppl inside w/ fav/tank/pkm/etc. wow you shot the engineers, now watch the miniguns shred you faster than you can blink.
~shoot it down w/ an apc. fact, apcs take at least 3 reheats to blow up a blackhawk. fact, minigun takes 3 seconds to blow up an apc.
~get a squad of AT guys and shoot it at the same time. if it doesnt shred you before you can fire, if you can hit it, you still need 3/4 AT guys at every flag on the map.
~c4 the flag pole. now you just have to wait for it to come and hope that it gets close enough to the flag for the blast to hit.
~hide in the flag cap zone. choppers have twice the cap radius as you do on th ground. for 6 ppl in the blackhawk you would need 6 ppl on the ground closer than it to stop it from capping. 1-5 ppl doesnt cut it, it will cap over you.
~nade launcher in the cabin. great idea, as long as the gunner is stevie wonder.

every one of those tactics relies on noob pilots and/or crews. the only ones that defend the blackhawk are those that are ignorant, those that rely upon it or those that have never seen it used properly.

I think the real root problem here is what the 'tard was using as his justification for whoring- win/loss record doesn't mean anything, so there is no real reason to contribute to the team if you have a non-contributory (or just something that doesn't contribute /much/) way to rack up more pionts than you would doing whatever is needed to secure the win, well, F- the team its time for Point-farming for me! SOMETHING needs to be changed so that there is a good incentive to actually *win* rather than to just farm points (and as was mentioned, BH crews WANT the flags to fall again, otherwise they're out of a job!). "No win, no points," is a pretty bad solution, but giving a bonus to the winning team (or putting a cap on how many points you can gain if you lose, based on overal team performance) might help move people away from, "let's get a billion teamwork points even though we're not actually helping the team," and get them thinking, "Hey we just captured this point now how about the 4 of us passengers hop out and set up to defend it while the pilot and gunners go pick up some more folks from the back lines and go cap another flag for the team!"

Also, for all the people saying "quit whining and just kill it using easy-as-pie method X," get out of the blackhawk and get into the MEC/PLA choppers and start noticing how unbelievably easier it is for those methods to work, as compared to being very dicey suicide propositions against a BH.

fact, minigun takes 3 seconds to blow up an apc.
I'd like to see that, 3 seconds to take down an APC, /me thinks NOT.

Once again, another thread whining about the one thing the game encourages - teamwork. I don't fly all the time, and certainly don't always whore it up in a bh either, so I've been on both ends of the rope. Plenty of times me and 1 other guy have went AT, dumped a couple rounds into it, and sent it away from our flag....we've even each gotten a 2nd round in it and taken it down. Done the same with tanks, m4m203, etc... If you want to cause it problems, you can........

As far as it 'not contributing to the game'. There is an arguement here, especially with the point distribution (assists/etc..). But, there are times when it can almost end the game (that is the objective right, to cap all the flags?).

We had 4 or so in one on Songura and managed to cap almost every flag - killing any defenders - and had the last flag at white before an apc ran us off....it was damn close to being closed out b4 some of the opposition managed to cap a few flags and make a game of it...

In all fairness, I would probably suggest reducing the splash damage on the miniguns, as its a bit crazy. Other suggestion, and this would help w/armor too, would be to beef up the AT rocket a bit - not drastically, just a slight amount...
