Mod needs help, I bet NO ONE can get this. ;)

So far anyway, no one's been able to help. I've talked to at least 50 people face to face about it (other bf2 fans) and nothing.

In retail, when I click on a server to join it, I get nothing. It says "Joining Server" for about 2 seconds and goes right back to the server list. No errors or anything.

Anyone know a fix? I've gotten my ISP to open all my game ports and nothing, so it's not a firewall problem. I've reinstalled more drivers then my age (18). I've reinstalled the game 13 times now. I'm frustrated as hell and tired of playing the demo. Yep...the demo works fine.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Yes, SP works fine as well. It's just the MP that's f....messing up. This is agrovating. I was able to play it for like an hour. I got it before a lot of people and haven't been able to play it since.

two things i would check first:

the version number that is showing on your bf2 menu screen

              and

windows event viewer. It might show some errors or warnings relating to the problem...

then check the services.msc to see all default services running normally especially network related ones...

check the hosts file to make sure your not blocking gamespy

err clutching at straws really but these are some ideas for you

if you have a 2nd hard disk with a few gigs of free space you could unplug your current winOS disk and put that 2nd disj in as master and install xp again and bf2 and see if that works, if not just put your old disk back

Already tried them, nothing shows up in the event logs. The version number is correct.

All the network services are fine, I just have some unchecked, non-mincrosoft related. I wanna try everything I can before reformatting because no, I don't have a 2nd HDD. :hmm:

Try updating PB manually and disable any un-used network cards. Maybe you have some weird routing problems going off. It sounds like it's not seeing any servers at all so maybe it's a connection problem?

                        Update PB manually.

Does making your own server work?

Go to network connections and have a look around. Refresh your IP (i think its repair).

                        Firewalls?

                        What are your PC specs?

SP and all works fine for me, and I dont want to uninstall/reinstall because I lost the manual (no CD-key)...and I hate asking EA for new CD keys! lol, but man if you find out please tell me what you had to do!
