I found the 'perfect' game last week... scored over 100 points, received a Gold metal and a bunch of ribbons... Our entire squad - all 6 guys - communicated with each other and it was GREAT!!!

That is until I realized that it's been over a week and my scores, ribbons and metal from that game didn't register in my stats... now I'm just pissed about the entire situation.

I really only play Karkand now on the pubs.

It gets old fast on the other maps when you have a noob commander thats sending your squad ALL OVER THE MAP for flags while ignoring the basics of defense.

I hate schlepping all over the big maps without good commanding.

It really reminds me of the Half-Life mods when 2FORTS became the defacto map. Karkand has emerged as that map in BF2.

Im taking break from games, including BF2. Im probably just gonna rent a few, then come back. Happens to all of us, its not a big deal. You get bored, and its a common thing around gamers. Take a break.

I feel the same way. I just cant stand to play more then 1 round anymore. I think once a mod like Desert Conflict comes out, things will get more fun, all these stupid ass Chinese levels just suck, the only fun levels are the urban ones, and those are boring now. We need some levels from Afghanistan or Iraq, with some desert.

I have to agree that if I hunt for points, the game becomes very boring. Maybe just for me. So I gave up. Now I just play for fun, alone or with a good squad. I found it more rewarding than ranks this way. and I never mind which map i'm in.

well, im getting a bit bored too. imo its the maps. the urban ones are ok, but the vehicle based ones just dont have the magic the DC ones had *cough el alamein/bocage *cough. also outisde of joining a clan ive never had that perfect squad experience. also, with natural selection being such an awesome teamplay game, thats taking alot of my gaming time. plus this is my summer after senior year, there are parties to attend, bbqs to be had on the beach, roadtrips to be taken, friends to cherish b4 leaving, and some business to finish with a certain girl. i dont think im gonna play much more until FH2 comes out.

i also have a post listing some problems i have with BF2 maps that detract alot from the fun. *warning long as hell

I agree that it has started to get a little boring at times. Best things to do is to try a new kit and a different style of play than you have used previously.

The thing i find most boring about BF2, is the ring around, bfv, type flag getting. Gets kinda old, running to flag, to flag, to flag..etc. The thing is, if you dont do it, and do decide to gaurd, you can go a very long time without firing a shot. And lets face it, boys, this is a multiplayer game. If i aint shooting a gun at someone, or they aint firing back at me..it gets alittle boring.
If you guys played Desert Combat......then correct me if im wrong, but flag chasing, wasnt really the order. Sure you fought over flags.... you just didnt get one, then immediatly, everyone rushed out to get another one. I think its due in part, that there are too many damn flags in bf2. However, because of this i only play 16 player style maps. Reasons.: Action. Less Flag Chasing. Teamwork feels better. Squads seem to work better on these maps... Some 32 style maps are good too. Just not alot of them.
                      Oh well..........

                          I too am dropping off.

200 hours played.. I burned myself out. I got from 10,000 global to 19,000 in a week and a half. Now it's taken me 2 weeks to get from 19,000 to 21,000.. just can't play much anymore.

Yeah I must say mine has dropped considerably - I went on a vacation, came back and haven't fallen into the rut yet.

I don't know if its a good thing or not

I've just cracked corporal, playing medic or anti-tank, with just a touch of chopper whoring. There is still plenty of game styles I haven't really tried yet...

                                - I haven't gone engineer, camped and mined a strategic bridge.
                                - I have rarely gone special forces and gone on asset destroying missions, or C4 traps.
                                - I haven't gone assault and whored it up with the grenade launcher.
                                - I haven't hogged a jet all game and bombed everything in sight.
                                - I haven't gone support and racked up the resupply points on the urban maps.
                                - I haven't ever had the patience to go sniper.
                                - I haven't gone on knife or pistol killing sprees aiming to get the badges.
                                - I haven't got in a buggy on the large maps, just to try running people down.
                                .
                                .
                                ... Should I continue?

In short, if (when) my game style becomes boring, there is a long list of things that I will be trying out. Strike at Karkand, although my favorite, is one of my least played maps. I play on constant rotation servers so I'm forced to use different tactics on each map, and my favorite maps are always fresh and exciting.

Then there is the whole new world of DIY hacking of config files and trying out new mods for the game...
