Yeah, about that 69, I put the cover back on it and it runs at a 52 Celcius now.

check yer card. it has a 4 prong power thing on it. the power hookup is ON the edge of the card. it's not on the faceplate you plug your video cable into. it's on the other end.

if you have not hooked up one of the power connections (same type as the ones plugged into hard drives) then THAT is why your card is malfunctioning.

well if it's not yer drivers. and it's not power. (tho personally i think 350W is a bit weak) I would assume motherboard or RAM.

Well I dont know about the drivers part, because in earlier posts i downloaded the newest driver, ran driver eraser, and it was running worse. I also had pictures there if you want to look at them.

Same way you get into Safe Mode. Just hit F8 upon startup, the it's one of the startup options. The reason you want to do this is so you know you're not actually using the video driver at the same time that you're trying to remove it, and using basic VGA video assures that.

This is not a be-all, end-all fix. This is a troubleshooting step. We're trying to discern whether the problem you're having is caused by the video driver on your machine, or whether there's a hardware problem. Of course, we're hoping that it's software, because then it can be fixed without you having to pull parts and replace them.

I've been playing Counter-strike:source since the day it was released with zero problems and the exact same hardware, and I started having the exact same problem as the OP a week ago in CS:S and BF2. Its not overheating, and its not power.

The issue started for me when I upgraded my x800 drivers. I was running 4.X (can't remember which) and went to 5.7. Now no matter how I uninstall, and no matter which driver I run (including omegas) the problem wont go away.

It seemed to start happening when I upgraded my radeon drivers to the latest omega version, deleting the temp files for bf2 from my documents fixes it for a couple of days and then the problem returns.

ive had the same problems, my old system was a P4 2.6 512 RAM BFG 6600 GT OC and everythink was stretchy. i recently bought a hole new comp and used the same GPU in my old system, the new comp consists of AMD 4000 2 gig RAM BFG 6600 GT OC and the stretchyness is gone, it runs perfect.

Would AGP 4x be the problem?

it seems to me most of you ppl with the problems of "artifacting" is you have your settings too high, does it do it when you lower them?
also power should be good, if the card feels it hasnt enough it will tell you (pop up)
this sort of artifacting is more common with OC a card too high, or trying to run with textures / effects too high...also a lack of BW across your memory will cause it.
if the cards new, it could be faulty
