Yep, I reckon most people do consider it a noob-toob as well. I think it does take a little more skill to become effective with it though.

I'm using the AT class more and more, and love taking down snipers at range with a well guided rocket. The anti-tank's SMG is an almost useless close range weapon compared to the assault class (DAO-12 unlock here I come), so you are often forced to keep your distance. This means that you very rarely will blow someone away from 2m, which seems to happen all the time with the assault's grenade launcher.

As far as I can tell, it's the people killing with the grenade launcher at knife ranges that is the real issue. I would love to see a 40mm grenade hit someone's body armour at 10m and bounce off!

Not really. I use the rockets for taking out people all the time, and I've never gotten any complaints about it.

I don't see how you could consider the Anti-Tank rocket launcher a noob-tube, it's explosion radius is so low that you have to actually hit the enemy with it to kill them most of the time. Sure it's great for taking out prone or stationary people, but in fast-moving cqc you can't just shoot it in the general direction of the enemy and kill them like the m203. Countless times I've tried that only for the rocket to harmlessly explode next to them, or worse, them actually jumping over the explosion.

Nade launchers and at are only newb weapons when the person using them uses ONLY them, if you have the at out and u see someone w/e thats using what you got out but to see retards running around using nothing but that makes them newbs.

Besides this minor hint i cant find anyone commenting my "wounderful" explaination on how the M203 grenades work in real life and how they should work in the game?

          Come on, any comments???

          Thank you in advance!

I found that post extremely enlightening...I mean I knew that they were activated by the number of rotations they complete...but all that other information was very interesting as well

and I agree about changing the grenades, maybe not the minimum distance thing becasue that might get really complicated...but a larger splash area might prevent people from aiming them at their own feet...

Nicely put, you are exactly right. The one thing to remember is to not let it get to you, if he gets in your head, you let him win.

Why is it when someone discovers an effective way to get kills they are suddenly labeled noobs, whores, etc?

Some folks don't want realism at all, they want to run around with shotguns & no vehicles and kill each other. God forbid someone would have a faster clicking rate then someone else, they would be labeled noob hacker.

I mean seriously it gets old all the complaining about how people use the kits/vehicles in the game. Most of the time the ones doing the complaining are the ones who are repeatedly killed by the "noobs/whores" simply because they are not smart enough to pick another kit when they respawn which will offer a productive defense to what just killed them.

Guess what if you are getting killed by grenades, spawn in as a sniper and wipe em out, either they will switch to a different tactic or you will get a ton of kills, but be careful when you get kills in this game everyone will call you a noob/whore, LMAO!

PS I have may 10 minutes under my belt using the assault class as I believe it is one of the most useless kits in the game.

To be perfectly honest I’m sensing a distinct improvement in the people playing online. Less mine TKs, distinctly less TK punishes, defensive tactics, commanders which answer requests, etc., etc.. Sure it’s taking some time to round out and there will always be those who don’t play in the spirit of the community but does anyone remember the first week after release? No squads, helicopters and airplanes constantly ploughing into mountains, non-stop base raping…

As for abuse of the grenade launcher – I’m personally glad to see that it’s finally being used. For a while there all we saw were medics and spec ops and, much as I miss the horde of medics vying to revive me every time I was shot, it’s good to see the classes being used as intended. Assault should definitely be the best at assaulting. It’s not like they can do anything else. Sure, the grenade launcher will trump an assault rife – I think you’ll find that’s intentional.

                    Finally, thank you

Well i suggest giving you a icon of a dud grenade of som sort if you aim at something less than 11 meters in front of you... ?

It's not complicated to implement and if i remember correctly the editor already have a "time to activate" variable for weapons. (But i dont know any weapon that use it)
