TJ, mods take a VERY long time...about a year. If you want a full conversion with locations like Fallujah, Baghdad and many others. Also gameplay changes and the whole 9 yards.

One guy was complaining how there was no rangefinder and thermal imaging, which would be sweet.
hmmm makes me happy when people reconize hard work, ofcourse I was the slacker in DCR...

Wow that was like insulting a dead person and him coming back to life at the wake and he strangles you.

I realize that... that's why I wanted people to be clear that this wouldn't happen overnight (some people expect WAY TOO MUCH too early on). We're going to do the best we can to speed the process up... but it falls on the shoulders of this team to make it happen, and for the community to make suggestions and request changes.

David, I've added you to MSN... and we'll get this rolling. Still looking for some coders, as well as dozens of other members for this team. See page 1 for a listing of open positions. I'll be updating that this evening.

ehh im not sure I get it, was garrison mad that I said DCR wasn't popular and the laughing smiley after it? lool, o well, DCR was one of the best games I've ever played, it had its great moments in weapons bunker, with the iraqi and his suicide vest blowing himself up in the US spawn, and the great fights for the bridge in that one DCR map, I forgot the name. If you guys helped we would have one awesome mod.

I'm sure we can squeeze you in there. We have quite a few available spots open for this team. We want a team large enough to produce a great quality mod, at a relatively fast pace... but we want to build a team that can function together and really take this mod to tremendous heights.

The website will be tweaked, and edited in the next couple days... so what you see now might change (ie. added links, and of course a fully functioning forum).

So definitely be sure to register now, and check back daily for new news articles... conversations on the forums (in which the development team will do their best to answer questions as well as hint to some upcoming features, without divulging too much). ... as well as many other potentially great site areas for you to explore.

This mod definitely is stepping off on the right foot, and rather quickly. We're going to do our best to form a solid team that will be able to provide all of you with a fantastic mod, worthy of expansion pack quality.

I look forward to this project... and I hope you all do as well. It's full steam ahead from here on in... just make sure you get your ticket to ride along.

(If anyone missed the website address... http://www.OIFMod.com )

I've redone all the forums, so you'll need to re-register now. Everything is fully online and we're just working out the kinks in the system.

The forums look great! Hopefully we see everyone stop by there. I've gone ahead and briefed the teams on what we hope to accomplish, so work is now officially beginning.

I can tell you this much...

We're going to release a mini-mod version (twice... the second with additional changes and added content), then begin releasing the final product in a series of updates.

Right now, slated for the chopping block are:

                            -At least a dozen weapons
                            -Another dozen vehicles
-At least four new Iraqi classes and skins (all custom classes for Marines)
-At least four custom maps (set in Iraq)

All of this with a plethora of realism changes made to the original game. This should make for a fantastic project! I look forward to hearing from the community on what they hope to see, or any questions they might have.

                              Re: Operation Iraqi Freedom

Updated the listing of available positions found on page 2. We have our forums fully established and making some great progress. I would suggest heading there to submit your application if you want to join the team, but otherwise, I do check back here frequently.

There is also talk of expanding this mod after it's completion to create an "Operation Enduring Freedom" which will feature Afghanistan maps and units.

Lots of moving parts guys... hopefully we start seeing the community as excited as the team is. Hehe.
