Wow G3 is bad on first impression

I just unlocked the G3, and it is very bad compared to the stock weapon/gl. It isn't really that much more powerful, and it runs out of ammo extremely fast. IF you finish off one guy, you better hope there isn't a second because you will be out of ammo.

These are my first impressions of it, I am sure the weapon is a little better then what I am thinking now, but I doubt it matches the stock weapons. Anyone else agree?

Dude it kills people so fast.. each shot does far more damage. Use em back to back and you'll see. That's why they have no grenade launcher AND a smaller clip. It's that powerful.

Even though the damage is much greater, loosing the around-the-corner-over-the-hill-multiple-kill-instagib feature of a grenade launcher makes it no better overall than the AK/M16 IMO.

Its down to G3 and G36 when I reach sergaent, not sure which I'll like more. I tried the G3 when everyone's guns got unlocked by the hackers, and I really liked it. I'm not a noobtuber, maybe thats part of it.

I actually like the G3 in th few instances that I used it... I dont have it unlocked but ive picked em off dead bodies when running low on ammo.

Its not great at long range. But its probably one of the best CQB guns. Managed to take out 4 guys in 1 magazine.

FIRST off the G3 is THE most accurate assualt rifle in the game, second put it on single shot and go prone. 2-3 shots kill a guy. either you have no aim or you are thinking its the M4A1 in counter-strike. you cant spray with this gun. if you ever shot the PKM its like that you have to do it in burst not full out spray. the G3 owns. but the person using it must too.

i loved the G3 on my previous account, but now i rely quite heavily on the Grenade Launcher as it is an awesome tool both close up and at long range :)

that is why i wont unlock the G3 again when i hit corporal

The G3 has already been proven to have the most deviation in the game (Out of the AR's)... No Grenade Launcher; and on top of that it only does 2 - 3 more points of damage than the AK47.

...True, it's the hardest hitting AR in the game, but, only by 2 or 3 damage points.

The M16 is actually more accurate than the G3 in game, heck, the Ak101, G36C, M4, and Chinese Spec-Op Weapon are all more accurate than the G3.

This has been discussed to death, and plenty of individuals have posted the in game information on the subject. So, I won't bother doing that. Just letting you fellas know, the G3 is the second least accurate weapon in the game (and only by a small margin, you're actually better off with an AK47 because of the extra ammunition).

wow i dont know where you guys are getting these "only 2-3 damage points more" there was a chart in www.bf2.org but it was saying that you have more recoil when you went prone(which is total bull). so i would like to see from the creators a list of damage in stuff.. not what some guy did. and its not the second least accurate.
