Wow G3 is bad on first impression

You can see the direct stats of the guns deviation, recoil and damage right in the objects_server.zip file.

Usrif_g3a3 has the least recoil, the most damage, has the greatest minimum deviation (as in the other guns are more accurate, the G3's spread will always be wider).

The positional mods are much better, meaning the G3 is quite accurate while standing and laying down doesn't affect accuracy as much, as opposed to the other guns having a positional mod of (stand/crouch/prone) 1.5/1.3/1, the G3 has 1.3/1.2/1.

The G3 is as accurate as the AK47, and does 40 points of damage (as oppsoed to the AK101 having 38).

Just like all the other unlockables, they are designed to be a middle ground between the three nation's guns, except for the special cases like the DAO-12 and M95, which are made to adhere to more specailzed play.

I think the G3 and the L81 are the two best rifles in the game. 1-2 headshots is all you need

when i use the g3 i can get 3 or 4 kills out of it and thats on full auto. btw the g3 is the most powerful rifle ingame it has a 7.62 and all the other assault rifles have the nato round. use the g3 on karkand, i get alot of kills with it there.

Really ?? I've been prone on a roof with the G3, and firing single shot. I saw a guy way off in the distance, I could hardly see him, but I got a RED nametag show when I was pointing at him. 1 single shot & I killed him, thats the gun for me !

You're right it's the most powerfull AR in the game, then, you kinda' lose merit from that point on.

The 7.62x51mm is a NATO round, both the M24, PKM, and G3A3 share the same ammunition.

The RPK, and the AK47 Both share 7.62x33(Or is it 39? I'm not too sure.. but, it's a bit shorter than a 5.56x45 round)

M16, M4, Ak101 all share 5.56x45 (Also a NATO approved ammunition)

SVD usues 7.62x54r, etc. etc.

I could go on for days, but, basically, you didn't make any damn sense... Yeah, that's what I'm trying to say.

I'm starting to like the M16 more and more, I took down 2 squads yesterday using single fire and burst. That thing is so accurate it's fun.

Yeah, the M16 is a very accurate gun in BF2 (As it should be), the problem is the G3 is lacking equal accuracy.

I mean, I'm almost positive both rifles shoot well under 2.MOA at 100m, it's a guess, but I don't see why they wouldn't perform up to that caliber. Only thing is, the G3 should arrive on a target with enough force to break most outdated bodyarmor and still make the kill... it doesn't do that very well in game.

its a good weapon :ar15: the only problem is that you run out of ammo to quick, but that is why your given a secondary fire arm.

I am surprised that people still believe that the G3 is extremely accurate. Maybe we should make a sticky about this. The G3 is a very good rifle, but at long ranges the accuracy hurts it a lot. At maximum possible accuracy, which is prone and sighted, the G3 gets a 0.4.

Same with the misbelief that the L85 is the most accurate rifle in the game. In perfect conditions, which means the best possible accuracy you could ever attain ingame, including with the scope (which is 0.288), it is slightly less accurate than an M16 (0.24).

This gun is beautiful but ea made a few good and horrendous things about it....compared to my use in all other games and my knowledge about this gun in real life....they messed it up bad...if there is one thing they were smart about it while standing up and running with it its inaccurate...but when your laying down on the ground in single shot it shut be sniper rifle accurate when the hair is right below the target....but u et used to it...overall good weapon
