Weird, I never had a problem with the IGLA. Maybe I'm a macho man

You've gotta be kidding me if you really think its practical to have an unguided point-and-shoot AA system in BF2. The jets are going so fast, I'm amazed the heat seaking missiles can track them as they dip and dive all over the place. Same goes for choppers in a lot of circumstances. And I've gotta ask you, have YOU ever used a stinger missile--last time I checked--they were heat seaking missiles. It's called a "fire and forget" system for a reason--because once you fire, the heat-seaking system takes over.Originally posted by BigFingerI gather you never used stingers in Desert Combat... they were bloody lethal and they went where you pointed them.

The stingers for DC would work really well against the choppers since they go fast and straight.Comment

That is still 69% and isn't that bad. You got to remember if you make it impossible to fly you ruin the game. They are fine.Originally posted by ikilled007Practiced with the fixed anti-air missiles tonight. We'd hover the chopper about 50 meters away in plain sight and not use flares. The GLA would get lock and still missed 31 times out of 100. Give me a break. Point blank miss, no evasive manuevers, just a hover, after getting the locked on tone?
Then we practiced with the Blackhawk guns against APCs. On a stationary APC, it took 8 seconds on average to drill it down to an explosion.
Have these issues been addressed for 1.03?Comment

I admit the IGLA/stingers can sometimes be somewhat gash. But what you have to remember is, that if they were beefed up, fliying would become very difficult. I bet all the hardcore pilots out there want it tuned down a little!
One thing I have noticed tho: I was the Chinese on Dalian Plant, and I was in one of the IGLA sites on the Chinese airfield. Quite often, the USMC team would steal one our J10's, and although I could lock onto them from the IGLA site, when I fired the missles they didn't seek in at all. Is this a bug?
Anti-air is quite an issue for me at the mo, as I'm trying to get the air defence ribbon. I have gotten 10 kills in a round twice now, but never 11

lol but when i'm in a plane and get the lock on tone I pull drop flares and take evasive action, when its an IGLA is seems the more sloops and full loops i do the more likely I am to be hit by an IGLA, i've been flying straight once then just did a simple turn and lost the IGLA but once i flew around did all kinds of crazy turns went up and straight down and all that stuff then boom I got hit by it?!?!!? i was like wtf.Originally posted by ikilled007Practiced with the fixed anti-air missiles tonight. The Stingers are so bad I have found a way to exploit it. I am a dedicated pilot. And when I know there is a lock on me I simply fly to the first enemy air asset I find. And boom hits the enemy which gets the AA a teamkill and 90% chance of punnish. The funny thing is I do it a few times and I acutally cost the enemy their air defense system, air assets and get the person who shoots the stingers booted for team kills. With out even firing one weapon. Now thats ownage!
But hey like they say: Dont hate the player, hate the game.Comment
