Locked On: I Don't Think That Word Means What You Think It Means

Practiced with the fixed anti-air missiles tonight. We'd hover the chopper about 50 meters away in plain sight and not use flares. The GLA would get lock and still missed 31 times out of 100. Give me a break. Point blank miss, no evasive manuevers, just a hover, after getting the locked on tone?

Then we practiced with the Blackhawk guns against APCs. On a stationary APC, it took 8 seconds on average to drill it down to an explosion.

Have these issues been addressed for 1.03?

dunno if its going to be fixed but something that annoys me and actually i dont know why it happens its when i lock a missile on a tank as a plane gunner and then, it for no reason changes its way and hits the ground. It happens very often, even when the pilot flys straight so i dont figure out why. Does anybody know??

Blackhawk on APC is fine the way it is. The blackhawk needs to be turned down, not make it stronger.

Indeed, the IGLA's targeting system totally stinks. Either it misses the target (even if they're not dropping flares or doing some acrobatic dodging) - or changes path to a totally different FRIENDLY target and rewards you with a TK.
It almost seems as the IGLA's are rewired or hacked by the enemy :p

I hope they'll fix it in v1.3; 33% accuracy for a "stationary" target isn't justifiable.

heat seeking needs to be scrapped alltogether, its rubbish, it was rubbish in BFV and its no better now... unguided that what we need. lead the target a little and bang ... any misses are down to lack of your own skill not some pigeon guided missle guidance system.

dont flame for the pigeon system its true and you thought the british only cam up with silly ideas for weapons !

          pigeon gided missile !!

A friendly stray missle (after a flare) will almost always hit you, but if you get a lock on enemy copter it will almost always miss. I am more scared of strays than I am of locked ones.

The AA is one of the weakest points in this game. All the "macho" guys rail about how good they are at using it and that it's not a problem ... bull! I know all the posts about hitting the helo's in the roof, etc. You can hit them right in the rotors and get no effect whatsoever. I know, I know.... it's just a game.... but ... if they're trying to get some authenticity... then do something. I have hit hovering helos not more than 100 meters away with a tank canon and have not even produced smoke.... that's a crock and EA needs to fix. Just try using heatseekers... nonsense.

I find the only thing I can rely on to take out a helicopter is the Tank. Guided missiles just suck!

The stingers do need lots of work. They are highly inconsistent as to when they decide to hit the thing you are locked on to and the fact they can hit friendlies better than enemies is just plain stupid.

I've learned a few tricks with them that help, but they still miss 60% of the time FOR NO REASON. As far as I'm concerned, if the pilot doesn't evade or drop flares, it should be an automatic hit.

I'd also like to see some AAA guns mixed in as well.

I'd just like something to take down jets.

                          Definitely!

We could use some stationary Vulcans or Shilka emplacements, I really miss those from BF42/Desert Combat!
