Who prefers 1024x768?

I like 1024 x 768 as that is what im most used to from playing games for years. Plus it keeps my FPS nice and high.

Yes, I just play on 1024 because any higher it like strains on my eyes... it seems to small, if i get up there. Occasionaly Ill play on 1280. I've been playing 1024 for many years. I use 1280 in call of duty

When playing on LCD's, setting it to your native resolution looks thebest in my opinion. I have a Dell 2001fp with a 1600x1200 native resolution and tried it with 1600x1200 with bf2. It looked "WAY" better than the smaller resolutions. It looks crisp, sharp, and there was no jaggies even though i had AA and AF off. Even the menus looked alot more crisp. When I have smaller resolutions on all the lines and font looked blurry like some pixels were trying to mix it in. When I had it on my native resolution all the pixels were exact (either white of black, not half and half) so it looked alot better. I think setting your resolution to your screens native resolution will look the best because its not trying to scale it to fit your monitor so you get crisp non spread out image. Ofcourse this only has to do with LCD's since they show the picture differently than CRTs. Its just oo bad i cant run it that hight without gettin crap framerates. Im almost thinking about gettin a new vid card. Oh knoes

I have the same exact LCD and totally agree. Runnin in the native 1600x1200 resolution looks much better, and I am running 4x AA as well. Shitty part about LCD's is they look best in their native resolution but you gotta have the hardware to get decent frame rates when running that high a resolution.

people that think theres no difference in 1024 to 1280 your insane, its unbarable to play at 1024x768 it looks like trash! everything is so big and fuzzy. look at teh trees in that res it makes me puke. in 1280 though everything looks so sharp and crystal clear dont give me bullcrap about 1024 looks clear casue it doesnt unless your ona 15 inch moniter.

i run at 1280x1024 on my 19" LCD and 1280x960 on the 30" LCD im getting soon..woot!

I use 1024 by 768 exactly because everything is so big. Make for bigger targets...easier to hit. Thats whats important for me. Don't care much for the eye candy. Its all about the K/D ratio! (Just kidding). I find I aim better when the targets are bigger.

I modify the BF2 shortcut and force the game to run in 1280 x 1024 with 4x AA on and it runs like a dream. What you do is create a shortcut of the .exe file, right click and change its target. At the end of the game directory destination you add

+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024

So for me it's "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024

Make sure you put the correct spaces in the correct places and you'll be fine. If you want a higher resolution then take out the 1280 and 1024 and replace it with whatever you wish.

My friend runs his on 1600 x 1280 and gets just slightly lower frames than I do, and he has everything on high. Yeah I know, he sucks.

I run my Dell 20.1" widescreen at 1680x1050 and it looks great.

All you do is add the szx, szy to the end of the shortcut.

The whole line would look like:

I run my Dell 2005 20.1 inch @ 1680x1050 using the tag in the target as well but there is one thing I can't figure out. I might be forcing the game to play at that resolution but what refresh rate is it giving me. I know I can have 60hz-75hz but what am I getting since I am using the target tag rather than the in-game video options??? Is there something else I can add to the target to specify refresh rate 75hz?

I tried playing 1152x864 but I find it easier to aim at 1024x768.

I too run at 1024 x 768 but I have no need to run any higher as I have a 17inch CRT.
