How much money did you spend on new hardware just because of BF2?

Thank God I didn't have to spend anything. I dumped $2,800 into an Alienware laptop 2 years ago and it can play BF2 today. Granted, it is on low settings, but ever since I found a sniper in what should have been a showdow, I haven't complained much.

Well...that and the fact I had to buy the wife a new laptop before I could justify getting more toys for myself....

I only spent $1400 australian dollars, which is around 800 US dollars and I got a 3200+(overclocked to 3800), 6800GT 256mb, 1 gig ram. I built the machine myself and got all the cheapest parts from different places. And it seems I managed to get it several hundred less than you guys for something just as good!

Runs bf2 really smooth, but I dont know how to get it to show fps. Anyonew know how?

nothing really... my comp runs bf2 just fine at 1280 with everything exept geometry at high... and it's not even one of those fancy a64's, it's a good ole barton 2500@3200+, 1gb ram (at 2-2-2-5), 6800le@gt+, and all that crammed into a shuttle... god i love shuttles...

edit: oops i forgot, i traded my koss the plugs that didnt fint into my ears for a 5 yo microsoft sidewinder precision pro... i love it...

Well I didn't get it for BF2, but I use it to play BF2 and I recieved it before the game was released as a graduation present.

$1,500 Dollars, ABS Laptop. Specs are in my sig. Medium Settings.
Laughing at people that run the game on low on a tower = Priceless.

Specifically to play BF2 (and any other game which requires a decent spec):
                              GF6600GT £120
                              Tagan 420-u01 PSU £45
                              1GB RAM £60
                              Logitech USB Mic £18

Which will all be added to the MSI S939 VIA K8T800 Pro mobo, Athlon 64 3200+ S939 512KB Venice CPU, Maxtor 80GB HD and Coolermaster Cavalier 3 case I just ordered... :)
If I've any money left next month, also an Audigy 2ZS....

I spent about CAD$1100 on upgrades:

                                XFX GeForce 6800GT
                                Asus A8V Deluxe Mainboard
                                AMD 64 3000+
1 GB Corsair RAM (upgraded to 2 GB total)
Nostromo n52 SpeedPad (upgraded from n50)
