Whats the AVG load time for a map on MULTIPLAYER for you.

Hey I was just wondering how long it takes you guys out there to load a map on Multiplayer. It takes me around 5 mins. My friends maps load in 30 seconds, and I'm trying to find out why his is so much faster.

    I'm using:
    Nvidia 6600 GT
    1 gig of ram
    2.4 Processor

Someone told me I needed more ram, so I ordered another gig stick.

Don't know, never really timed it, maybe 4 mins?

So 5 mins doesn't seem extremely long? 30 seconds for my friend seems extremely short compared to my 5 mins.

most 45 seconds while in game changing map, loads over 1 minute ONLY during start of game..

Maps load way faster with 2GB of ram, 30 seconds to a minute tops.

Well, the server I play on is Karkland 24/7. And, every 5 rounds it reloads the Map. It takes like 5 mins for me, but for my friend, it takes 30 seconds.

Raid 0 on a SATA drive and 2 gig RAM is a very good combination..

Well here's something that's extremely weird, my specs are the following:
                  ATi Radeon 9000 Pro
                  1 gig of ram
                  2.4 Processor

It takes me around 30 seconds to actually load the resources and about 1 minute to load the Join Button. Total being 1.5 minutes...

                    I am using a NVIDIA 6600 GT AGP 4X

                    Could that be why?

No, I use an ATI X200. It's ram that affects load time

                        Thanks Sharp. You the sex.

So the upgrade to 2 gigs should fix?

I have 2Gb of RAM and maps load for me pretty quick. Around 30-35 seconds I would guess as I've never timed it.

It was just funny. I was lanning at my friends, and his map was done and he already had a score of like 25 by the time I finally got in. LAME!

if u open bf2, then close it then re-open it, load times will be faster and it wont be hell slow at the start of a round when u choose kit
