The numbers have been posted and those are what the weapons are calibrated to when using positions of standing, crouching and prone.

As stated here, some have adjusted themselves to their weapon and have learned how to deal with their curve and make it work for them.

Just like my opinion of myself finding the M16 better than the G3 just for its accuracy and chance to hit the target I am aiming at.

Going back to the numbers, the G3 is not a great gun. It has great damage per bullet, but that does not excuse it as being a great gun. I think it is an average gun that was posted to have "high" accuracy when in reality it does not.

The gun description is misleading and has fooled some players into selecting it to unlock. Some have adjusted to its poor hitting performance and made it work for them and others have downright regretted their selection.

We will see what the next patch brings. Who knows! They might revamp some of these weapons.

Can we just get one thing clear?

      I personally like the G3.

The only thing I have a problem with is the countless posts of people who have unlocked it telling everyone they are more accurate.

      They aren't.

      End of story.

It's not that easy to aim the GL. They do have skill if they are using it at a distance. Now if they are CQ (Close Quarters) fighting and spamming it, then I would have to agree. They are using it as a noob cannon. It takes some practice to be deadly with the GL when distance is a factor. I like it because I can take out light vehicles with it as well as groups of infantry. Granted I love my AT kit the most though.

Regarding the comment with the G36, what does one need to do to get "the hang of it". How's it different then other rifles? I'm thinking my next upgrade may be the G36.

I personally love the G3. It definitely isn't as accurate as the M16, but a more accurate gun won't do you any good when you're already dead. Myself and an M16 face to face at medium range or closer, the M16 will never win. I unlocked the G3 when I hit corp and use that almost exclusively, even though if you look at my stats, I'm a GL whore (well, recovering GL whore) :-)

I do just fine with the g3, thank you very much mr. tard.

Problem is, when i want to shoot a grenade up into the open door of a blackwhoe squad, I am **** out of luck. No grenade launcher=gimp.

Please stop trying to defend your e-peen unlock.

As for the ak in cs, that is a different situation. The first round of an ak is a killer if it is a headshot, and it is always a headshot if you know what you're doing. That isn't true for any of the other assault rifles, which is why the AK is more popular. I don't see grenade launchers on any of the rifles in CS, do you?

                Nevertheless I really enjoy the G3 :)

Xm-8 would be a tri-use weapon that is capable of long range, carbine, and fully auto variations. Yes you are right it would have done well in several professions.

it should be a G36E with a nade launcher and a 1-2.5x scope....

it should be a little more accurate and a little harder hitting than the M16w203...

                    IMHO...

Alright, I was awarded my first unlock last night, and since I play assault the most, I picked the G3.

I didn't get to use it for long, but quite frankly I thought it'd be stronger than it is.

At times it seems that I have to put as many shots into people as I did with the 16/203. It SEEMED a bit less accurate, but I haven't actually sat down and figured out range vs. % shots on target. I was having an off night for much of last night.

I can't honestly rate the accuracy, because until the map editor comes out, and I can start making our clan training/testing maps, it'll be impossible to tell with a surety.

I suppose the one big advantage is that the unlock weapon is available to all armies, so at least you have a consistent weapon experience across the board. This may make up for some weapon deficiencies.

                      J.

The trick about the G3 is using it on short burst, don't use single shot. You can fire one shot even if it's on auto. So use burst and single shots, at long distaces go prone. When you get used to it, you will rack up a lot of kills because it has a lot of damage. Same with the PKM or whatever.
