Whats so special about the G3?

It's a certified, undeniable fact that it is LESS accurate than the M16 & AK101.

I believe the only rifle that is worse is the L85A1 (SA80), but can't remember the exact stats.

I picked G3 for my first unlock and I don't regret it. Good accuracy, very high stopping power. I only regret that they didn't made MX8 as the assault unlock. It would be much more fun to use the 'brand-new-kick-ass-weapon' then an old gun (made in the 50's).
Nevertheless I really enjoy the G3 :)

Okay, I got the G3 just a few minutes ago And I have a few questions:

1. What are the pros of it versus the default, and what are the cons?
2. Can it shoot through glass/fences/etc?

Played around with the weapons last night too, and I wasn't that impressed. Have PKM and M95 from before, and the only usefull unlock for me next would be the G3...

Just like how the AK is less accurate than the M4 based on the game code in CS. But as you know, the AK is more powerful and accurate when used by someone who actually knows how to use it, making it the better weapon.

It's all based on the actual skill of the person. Quit using the "game code" as your excuse for sucking with it.

but knowing the weakness will allow the user to make effective use of it

Those who actually know a thing or two about how the scripting works in the BF series of games would laugh their asses off at comments like:

It seems people get very defensive of "their" gun when they've invested time unlocking it. Sure you might be good at using it, and you like it, that's great. But saying blatantly wrong things like "it's more accurate than the M16" is just deluded.


I'm not whining, I'm just trying to stop misinformation.

But hey, if you think it's more accurate because you have god-like super leet skills and you'd rather stick your head in the ground when the real facts rear their ugly head, that's your prerogative.

G3 was my first unlock. The learning\playstyle curve may be to high for some players... so be warned :p

Pros: Very accurate in semi, 40dmg per shot.. nice! Penetration. (Test this out on peeps hiding in the fruit stand at Karkand, or anyone hiding behind a fence or resupply crate, no hiding from the G3.)

Cons: Well... imo NONE. 4 mags? not a big deal when u have support in your squad. 20 clip? no prob.... the stopping power of this weap more than makes up for the 10 less rounds. Most of the peeps that dont like the lack of the xtra ammo and rounds in the clip I believe tend to be more spray n pray anyways.

This weapon I believe should be handled in semi almost 90% of the time. Only full in CQ areas or fast flag assaults.

The lack of the GP30\M203 imo is not as big of a deal... IF u are a player that has bad aim and bad reflexes... or just generally spazzes out when u engage then you will definately miss the glauncher and extra ammo loadout.

I have done some truely amazing shots with the G3 and it still amazes me sometimes what it can do.

If you are a calm methodical player the G3 will fit nicely into your playstyle.

If your only bothered about the actual factes of how accurate it is well fool on you I'd rather use a rifle if I liked using it than OMG it's not accurate enough I can't earn that many POINTS!!!
